Oregon vs Auburn - BCS National Championship Game Play Large

The one thing going for it is Oregon has been to the Rose Bowl and they learned how to get back to the big game.
Auburn hasn't been in a big game since the 90s. All the pressure is on Auburn as the media has already decided Oregon has no chance (see Cowherd this morning).
Chip Kelly is the better coach and has a month to prepare---so watch out. he is going to throw the AUB defense and special teams looks that they have never seen before. ORE has the speed if not more than AUB has seen before.
I was pretty square on AUB saturday as well, but think the cards line up for Oregon to cover this line.
Same thing happened last year---no one wanted to take TX at all in that game and the backup almost won it for them. Sure Bama covered, but nothing like expectations pregame.

Oregon will win by at least 10 points. 
Consider:
Auburn had to go into overtime to beat Clemson (6-6). 
Auburn beat Kentucky (6-6) by 3 points, and they lost to Tennessee (6-6) who got their butts kicked by Oregon 48-13.
Chattanooga scored 24 points against Auburn.
The Ducks score more points per game, give up fewer points, have a better punting game, fewer penalties, and score so fast that the time of possession is a joke.
Strenght of schedule? They beat a very good Stanford team by 19 points.
This isn't the same Oregon team as last year, so don't expect the same results in a bowl game.
The only way to beat Oregon is to play perfect football. I have watched Auburn enough to know they can't do that.

Not sure I would count on that outcome. Auburn's coaches are painfully aware of their weaknesses on defense. People continually forget one of Auburn's best weapons on defense is Newton and the offense.
Chizik, Malzahan, and Roof have had the good fortune this year of being able to dictate game tempo in order to help out the defense.
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Auburn go for a heavy run/short pass strategy in this game with the goal of clocking consuming drives in order to keep Oregon's offense off the field.
There is no doubt Auburn's coaches will test out the size advantage of Auburn's o-line over Oregon's d-line.
If they are able to grind out 3 yards & a cloud of dust all game long they will be more than content to do it.

Auburn wins this game. If the game was this week it could be Oregon. But look how much time Auburn gets to prepare for Oregon. The Ducks might come out flat against Auburn because the offense might not be in sink. I can see Auburn getting up by two touchdowns early. Oregon doesn't play well in the first half away from Eugene. Auburns wins and covers easily.

oregon defense is very average,you got a qb who can run and throw(better than pryor),nothing changes here for oregon defense.

I would expect to see Cam have 25+ carries in this one. They will work Dyer up the gut, Mccalebb on the edge and Newton on the read option a ton until Oregon D stops it or makes adjustments to stop it.
Why wouldn't you try that if you have that kind of size advantage in trenches?
Only see Malzahan opening it up if either Auburn trails by a large deficit or Auburn has a decent lead and trying to blow it open.

tiger i think the alabama game really woke auburn up from getting down so much,i remember auburn coach saying in a post game conference we can't keep getting down so early to great teams,then having 2 come back,reason i liked them vs sc so much,knew they would come out strong from the start,never look back.I think they do the same in the oregon game,I think oregon going to have a tough time with that auburn offense,reason im so high on auburn for this title game.No one has figured out newton,and his other weapons and i don't think oregon will either.I am banking on that auburn will try and limit oregon offense possessions by short runs,short pass plays, etc. Been some games this year where it took oregon till the second half to get going.If auburn is fast out of the gate and oregon is in second half mode,oregon is going to get blown off the field.Seems alot of people forget about stanford game first half,cal game,that oregon played.Oregon is beatable.

Im surprised so many of you still think oregon will beat auburn in championship game....Oregon does not play as many tough opponents as auburn does week in week out. Auburn is battle tested and extremely balanced. Oregon is weaker on the ball pocession side, and thats going to be a difference in this game...AUBURN rolls 38-23

plus you guys are forgetting, Cam is playing better and with more poise then he did early in the season, and Auburn is on a hot streak, ever since that 21 point comeback couple of games ago. And i agree with alt4tigerfan, that its going to be cam Newton's, and Auburn's ability to put together long drives with points at the end of it, that's going to decide this game. I'm looking to see Auburn play keep-away ball and limiting Oregon from having any significant time on offense

Everybody here is talking with too much certainty as to who will win. Fact is nobody knows. Dogg has a 58% winning percentage, which is damned good. The point is, it's gambling. If Auburn plays like it did against South Carolina they win, it was a great game on their part. If Oregon turns on the jets like they did after they got behind on a very good Stanford team they will probebly win.
Cam Newton will probably never be a great pro but as a college player he's a once a decade talent, 6'6" 250 and able to out run and out juke good defensive players. He better put up big numbers on Oregon because Oregon is putting up big numbers on them. Auburns defense isn't that good, they gave up a lot of points to a lot of teams. Here is a bit of news on Oregon few people know about. The owner of NIke made a verbal promise to the Oregon Track coach who gave him the idea for a new kind of track shoe (made it with a waffle iron!) that he would donate 10% of Nike to the Oregon athletic department when he sold it. Well that happened and the owner of Nike being good to his word donated 100 million to University of Oregon Sports. They never lose an assistant coach because they are paid better at Oregon than anywhere else. The workout center for the players is insane, you'd think they were upper level executives at Microsoft. Oregon is going to remain a football power for a long damn time thanks to a waffle iron and a verbal promise made by a guy making a shoe company out of his garage.
