Im in complete agreement with you Boom...
a 2 qtr back system usually spells trouble..especially 2 young, inexperienced qtrbacks. Im thinking that Texas will try to slow down the fast paced OU offense by trying to run the ball and keep the ball out of the qb's hands. If Texas's defense can hang with the Sooners and keep it close, thats usually when LJ makes bad judgements leading to turnovers.
Off Cord Heupel is a little different than Kevin Wilson in the sense that Wilson had a tendency to lay off the gas with a lead and go conservative. Heupel seems to have just the opposite approach.
IMO, Texas IS better than last years team but not quite there yet. They will need help to get by the Sooners this year. (turnovers, penalties, officials)

ok, so would you say last year's line of OU -3 was bait for Oklahoma bettors?
because nobody bet Texas last year, all the money was on OU - 3 on all the websites
I'm just trying to get an explanation for last year's line of - 3
people all over the forum were saying it was "too easy" and a "trap" and "Vegas doesn't give away money", yet we all collected with OU tickets while those conspiracy guys were left with losing Texas tickets
I'm not saying either side is a guarantee, I'm aware that it is NOT, nothing is a lock in this sport
I'm just trying to figure out why people think that lines are "traps" and "Vegas knows the outcome" by the number they set
if that theory doesn't apply from year to year then how can it be legit?
that is all I'm asking of anyone who thinks this is a "trap"

Your reference to Clemson is comical. First off any QB was better than Trickett and the game was ON THE ROAD at CLEMSON. This game is HUGE rivalry game on a neutral field. You are right about Jones being the better qb but play calling has A LOT to do with how the qb's play. OU should have won that FSU game by 30 but their play calling in the RZ was typical OU football. If OU comes out and airs it out and plays out of the box in the RZ its a rout but I doubt I see that happening. Texas OC is the same OC that called all those trick plays that beat OU with inferior talent. I am not saying you are wrong about who covers but comparing the Clemson game makes absolutely no sense at all. This game is one of the top 3 ELITE games of the year no matter which team has the better qb. For a guy that doesn't seem to give OU a lot of credit you are saying they are about to rout a top ten 10 with a ton of talent. OU has more talent offensively than anyone in the country including Bama and LSU but Heupel's playcalling is what hurts OU when they go on the road and in the RZ. Play calling is so important and when OU gets in the RZ they tend to get conservative and try to pound the ball instead of play action inside the 5. If Heupel will just go to OU's strengths OU's offense can score big on anyone.
