RB Daniel Porter had a fantastic year Last year 1164 Rushing 5.2 YPC and 10 total TD's
 
QB Ross Jenkins should have a better year
 
WR Phil Livas is back after 43-607
 
The Entire D-Line is back after only giving up 3.1 YPC LY

Concerns  
 
The Pass Defense was Bad last year 273 Yards allowed and 25 TD's and now both starting CB's are gone
 
The LB's lost their 2 best Players
 
The WR's other than Livas are really Green

(last Bowl Game was 2004 Fort Woth Loss to Cincinnati 14-32)
 
While HC Mark Snyder is on the hot seat , he has 16 Returning starters and 46 Lettermen returning ///
This will be  his most Talented team
 
QB's So.Mark Cann 14-13 Ratio and 
Jr Brian Anderson 3-1 led the Herd to a Miserable 95th in the country in passing LY...Only completed 50.1 % of their passes..
Both return and should improve along with 2 JC transfers.... This unit should put up far better Numbers this season as I Like both QB's to improve
 
RB Darius Marshall is back after 1095 (4.9) and 5 TD's ...Darius also had 16 Catches LY and might double his recps  in the new schemes/// Terrell Edwards i a nice change of pace back and Provides a nice short yardage option..RFR. Martin Ward PS#57  is built like Marshall at 5-9 188 and should be the future of the Program at RB and should provide nice depth .. The running game Overall was 50th 157 Yards Per game 4.5 YPC
 
WR/TE    Cody Slate should be all CUSA this season  after catching 40 Balls for 8 TD's Last year . missing some time with a leg injury...
JR . 6-6 260+ TE Lee Smith(Tennessee Transfer) is more of  a Blocker  but still should catch more than 12 Balls from a YR ago//
Losing Darius Passmore and his 56 Catches -945 Yards and 7 TD's does sting
WR's Milligan,Edmonson,Thompson and PS#56 FR CJ Crawford should form a capable unit and put up Bigger numbers with the better QB play this season   
 
The O-Line only gave up 13 Sacks Last year and returns both starting Tackles who are now only So's this season ..
 
D_Line  DE Albert McClellan is now 2 years removed from his ACL Injury and hopefully will be back to 2006 form when he had 11.5 Sacks and was named CUSA Def. POY.....
DE  Micheal Janac should have plenty of chances to make plays with Albert commanding constant double teams ..
DT's Johnny Jones, Delvin Johnson ,Montel Glasco,James Burkes and 355LB monster Brandon Bullock form a Nice rotation  
 
LB's  Mario'Thumper" Harvey 6-0 245+ should once again lead the team in tackles after 107 LY...
Brandon Burns should excel after 69 Tackles LY...
The depth is very green and any Injuries could be a problem at LB
 
Secondary
The Front 7 better get to the QB
Both starting Safeties are gone
although SR. SS Ashton Hall has started 8 Games in his career..
3 CB's do return with starting exp//
 
The Defense Overall will continue to improve under 2nd yr DC Rick Minter

Tyler Russell PS#7 might not be the perfect fit for Mullen's system but he decided to stay after Croom Left ...it will be Tyson Lee's job to lose and I think his decent play this year will keep Russell on the bench..
 
RB Anthony Dixon ran for 869  4.4 YPC and 7 TD's LY
 
The WR's Look solid with Brandon McRae 6-4 200+ catching 51 Balls LY and the Fr. Class is loaded .
 
The LB's are Big AVG 245+ LB's and all of them are hitters
 
The secondary has some talent and should continue to get better vs the Pass
 
Concerns
 
The Bulldogs have had almost zero pass rush the last 2 years (19 Sacks in 07 and in 08) last in the SEC
 
The Schedule is Murder ... I see MSU only be favorite in 2 games this season ...

The O-Line has a rare 4 Players returning who started 4+ Games LY
 
Navy's defense only gave up 22PPG and 136 Yards per game rushing and unreal 7 returning starters for a service academy ...
 
NG Nate Fazier is one of the Best Navy D-Lineman in 20+Years
 
QB Ricky Dobbs Avg 4.7 YPC last year in limited action and might have the Best Arm of any Navy QB in along time
 
The OT's look solid and should Pave the way for another Top 5 Rushing finish....
 
7 of the top 8 LB's are back

Gone are excellent Rushers
Shun White and Eric Kettani
 
The secondary usually gives up a ton of yards and now they must replace both starting CB's and Rover
 
The O-Line has very little Veteran depth

The WR's are excellent...4 of the top 5 return...and they have great size Jeff Fuller is  6-4 210+ Terrence McCoy is also 6-4 and QB/TE turned WR Jaime McCoy is 6-3 225+...
WR/QB Ryan Tannehill is a great athlete and the Aggies better find a way to get him the Ball
 
The QB's threw for 252 Yards a game and whoever is under center wheather it's Johnson or Tannehill should put up even better stats this season
 
10 Starters return on a offense that should score more than the 25 PPG of LY
 
Concerns 
 
The Aggies had almost no running game LY 89 Yards per game for a 2.8 YPC... There are plenty of high Recruits now they need to step up
 
The O-Line might have been the worst of any BCS school LY...
But with 5 starters returning this year they can only be better
 
The Defense gave up a sick 5.2 YPC for 219 yards rushing per game
37.4 PPG
 
Wagering
 
A&M might have some Good Value this season as the schedule opens with 3 winnable games all at Home vs New Mexico, vs Utah St, and vs UAB
 
The Aggies should be a Big Dog in mnay of their BIG12 Games and might just pull a Nice ML Upset or 2..
 
Overs should be a great Play when the BIG 12 schedule hits

JC Transfer Daniel Thomas makes the most sense with his Mobility
 
The Wildcats will be more of a running team this year but are any of the Backs any good ??

Strengths
 
The Running Game has been Fantastic ,rushing for 278 PG (6.1 YPC) 214 in 07' (4.9)
RB Vai Taua quickly rose up the depth chart LY and Luke Lippincott
he was ready rushing for 1521 (6.4) 15 TD also catching 30 balls for 243 and another 3 TD's
Lippincott is back from the ACL injury for what seems like his 9th year..
 
 
QB Colin Kaepernick is on the verge of greatness missing out by 151 Passing yards  on becoming the 3rd QB to Pass for 3000+ and rush for 1000+ in the same season ..
Amazing numbers LY Passing for 2849  22TD's 7 Ints, Rushing for 1130 (7.0 YPC) 17 TD's
 
The OT's are rock solid Gallett and Durham were both 2nd team All WAC Ly and have 48 Career starts between them  
 
The Defense was great at getting into the Backfield LY recording 36 sacks (10th in the FBS) and 8th in the Nation in tackles for a loss...
6th in the FBS vs the run 3.1 YPC for
89 Yards per game
 
Concerns
 
WR's Marko Micthell + Mike McCoy are gone with their 114 catches LY...

The secondary had one of their best years ever only giving up 200 Yards per game , and could be even better this season with 3/4 back 
 
Never thought I would say this but the WR's look promising ...
all 3 top targets are back
 
Concerns
 
The Returning players on the D-Line only recored 6 sacks LY
Gone are both Ends including
1st team ALL MWC Jake Paulson
52 Tackles 9 sacks 14.5 for loss
 
The depth on the O-Line is very green .. which us usually the case but this year more than normal
 
The small Size of the Front 7
could really wear down vs Power rushing teams and with 5+ of those on the schedule look for the Falcons to give up 150+ rushing alot

Strengths
 
RB Da'Rel Scott was 1st team all ACC LY with 1133 Rushing yards and 21 Catches for 171yards
A Former HS Sprinter Scott has the speed to break off the long runs
Bowling Ball Like Davin Meggett and power back Morgan Green provide excellent depth
 
 
A very large O-Line with all 5 starters weighing 300+.. Should open plenty of holes for the running game
 
QB Chris Turner could breakout in his SR. year .. He needs to cut down the Turnovers
 
 
Former UMASS HC Don Brown is the New DC and plans on Blitzing and playing Press coverage alot .. 
 
 
MLB Alex Wujciak 6-3 255 is a monster making 133 Tackles Last year...while the other 2 starting LB's are gone there is some Green talent
 
The secondary is very experienced but it needs to force some turnovers after giving up 20 TD's and only coming up with 10 Ints
 
Concerns
 
The O-Line while very Big and full of decent run Blockers has been horrible in pass protection giving up 68 total sacks the last 2 years...
 
Gone is 1st round Pick WR Darius Heyward-Bey and #2 option Danny Oquendo ... while there is some nice talent on the roster much of it is very green
 
The D-Line lost 3 starters
 
The Pressure is on Ralph Fridgen with the Fickle Terps Fans calling for his Job .. I don't understand why ?? but then again I am not a Terps Fan
 
 
Wagering 
 
Most people are really down on Maryland this year... You might catch some extra points ATS...
already in week 1 at CAL the line has jumped from +17 to 21.5 in some places
 
Maryland has 7 Home games this season and they should be favorite in 5 of them...
I will fade The Terps as a Fav of 7+

Sounded good on he show today. Congrats on the guest spot again next Wednesday.

Anxiously awaiting your team previews for the last 60 or so teams. Pretty interested to hear your thoughts on Penn States win total I see you have them up there in the top 10. 9.5 is their win total and everyone is loving the over there. Not sure I like it that way but your input would be good.

I like Boise State more than you do I think they are deserving of a top 10 ranking I really do.

One thing I can't agree with you on is where you have NorthWestern ranked. Im not an avid believer of big-10 football by any means but they have one of the best college coaches in football and a great defensive coordinator that turned some things around last year. I know Sutton is gone but in this sport running backs are a dime a dozen. They return Kafka who will start along with the entire offensive line who was great last year. 8 starters on defensive including all of it's secondary.

Would love to see you're top 5 win total bets you will be placing this season. Thanks again for the work you put in, although I may not always use it, its certinaly great material to read over.
