I agree with that.  I see a lot of names coming back that give me the idea that we could FINALLY see them become bowl eligible.  But as they have the chance to beat, ALMOST everybody in the East, they also can lose.  What an awful situation to be in.  God does that sound like Pitt.

Temple could have a very good year... last season I remember telling Blakejeff(temple fan) that this would be their year....

I do have 2  Big concerns regarding the Owls this season

1 .. Losing QB  Adam DiMichele..that Kid was a gamer /Leader

2 The Lack of a running game ...2.8-  2.7-  1.9  - 2.4  YPC the last 4 years ...The O-Line should be best it's been under Golden but they better crack 100 per game to have a shot at the East ...

I do think the Defense will be much better this year and the MAC East is wide Open ...

Program destroyer Greg Robinson is finally gone
In Steps Dave Marrone who was the OC for the New Orleans Saints 06-08 and the O-Line coache with the NY Jets 02-05...
I like the New OC Rob Spence although he was a Bust at Clemson 05-08Mid(working under Idiot Bowden) but before that he hade some explosive offenses at Toledo 01-04...
DC Scott Shafer was the DC at Michigan LY ,Stanford in 07 and WMU before that.. His Broncos D in 2006Led the NCAA in Sacks and Ints....
 
First things first , Restore the Home Field Advantage .. The Carrier Dome used to be a tough place to play.. Some Friends went to some games LY and told me it seemed like a Library....
 
 
The Offense has a few Bright spots...
 
RB Delone Carter should be 100% after nursing a Hamstring injury most of last year, He did avg 6.0 YPC...
RB Antwon Bailey saw plenty of time with the 1st unit in the Spring ... his 5-8 size allows him to hide until the hole is open (just watch the Notre Dame game )
 
WR Mike Williams returns after being suspended for  08.. he is a PlayMaker in 07 he scored a TD in 9 straight games and tied the Orange record with 60 catches ...Hopefully the ??? QB's can get him the Ball
 
 SR TE Mike Owen (former LB) is a monster in the weight room and added 10+ pounds to his frame this offseason ...
 
DT Arthur Jones is always around the ball with 111 tackles the last 2 years...1st team BE LY .. Arthur may end up playing on Sundays NY
 
The Cuse does have some good athletes at LB and in the new schemes call for heavy Blitzing ,,,,
 
Tons of concerns on the Orange this year ... Mainly the O-Line that has to learn new schemes and is horrible at Pass Blocking

Dick Tomey is a Fantastic Coach.. his 181 Career Wins is 4th most for active coaches...
His Defenses always seem to play way of their head...
 
The Offense was miserable LY and the Spartans still managed to win 6 Games
18.7 PPG --2.7 YPC and only 196 Passing yards per game
 
53 Lettermen return
 including 15 Starters
 
Injuries killed the O-Line LY and the Spartans now have 8 players returning that started LY..their 93 Career starts is 14th in the FBS...
 
While the Spartans look much better on paper this year ..
The schedule is Murder    
the Out of Conference schedule features 1 gimmie vs Cal Poly (HC Ellerson gone) and 3 almost sure losses at USC,vs Utah, and at Stanford....
 
In WAC Play the Spartans have 4 winnable home games but the Road schedule is at fresno St., at Boise St., at Utah St and at La Tech.....
 
I am looking at backing SJ ST ATS in these Games
vs Utah if catching 14+
vs Idaho if laying less than 17
at Fresno St if catching 7.5+
vs Hawaii if laying less than DD
vs NM St. if lahing less than 17....
 
The Spartans might be a great fade as well in these

Mike Sanford is still on the hot seat ..although he got a contract extension through 2012 the buyout is cheap..
I can't believe the Rebels lost at SD St the last game of year with a Bowl Bid on the line ...
 
Things got off to a great start 3-1 LY after beating both Arizona St. and Iowa St. in thrilling OT fashion ...
The Rebels then went in the Toliet closing the season out on a 2-6 Run..
 
For UNLV to have a shot at a Bowl QB Omar Clayton needs to stay healthy after 18 TD's and only 4 Ints LY ...Backups Mike Clausen looked good winning 2 of his 3 starts ..
 
RB Frank the Tank Summers is gone ...New starter CJ Cox is more of a Burner and might give the Rebels the big plays they need out of the backfield...
 
The WR's are loaded led by 1st team ALL MWC  Ryan Wolfe the schools all-time leader in pass catches...
6-5 Rodelin Anthony needs to be more involved this season
 Phillip Payne is back for his So season after  7 TD's LY
 
The O-Line returns 4 who started 8+ Games , although they do lose their best Lineman ... Sacks allowed did drop from 31 to 14 LY ....
Pass blocking should once again be the strength for the Line
 
The Defense cost the Rebels Big time LY allowing 40+ Points 6 times ....Finished 115th in Sacks and 110th vs the Run ...To win in the MWC you need to be Strong on defense and this has done in the Rebels for along time now ....
 
The Front 7 can only be better this season but the Secondary is my biggest concern .....
 
ATS the Rebels are solid Home Dogs going 11-5 the last 4 years
 
LY was the first time UNLV has had a winning ATS record since 2001....
 
I think the Rebels are vastly Over rated  heading into this year with many Pubs picking them 7-5 or better ...

QB I always thought Hunter Cantwell was Overrated , now he is gone and the Cardinals are looking for a new man .
.Justin Burke NC St. Transfer seems the likely choice he was the Kentucky HS player of the year in 06... Adam Froman put up some monster stats in JC Ball (40 TD's almost 4000 PY) and is more of a dual threat ///
 
RB Victor Anderson SO. was BIG EAST ROY in 08 rushing for 1047 (5.7) and 8 TD's also caught 18 Balls...
at 5-9 -185 Anderson doesnt look like a Power back but he moves the pile like one ...
 
WR's are loaded with the Top 5 targets coming back
5-9 183 Doug Beamount 62-750 0 TD;s is also dangerous getting quick handoffs// The 6-8 Josh Chinchester 30-341 2TD's dropped to many balls LY but he was only a FR...
Scott Long is battling back from a ACL Injury and missed the spring
 
 
The O-Line is suffering a 2 Huge losses..
One it's Leader C Eric Wood and the other LT George Bussey who was a 3yr starter ...
4 do return with 6+ starts but the 38 career starts is 108th in FBS
 
The Defense has been horrible the L 2yrs//giving up 29.8 and 31.4 PPG...
New DC Brent Guy plans on being more aggressive ...
Louisville's D has not been able to get to the QB for 2 years with only 32 Combined sacks 2Y///
 
The LB's are the strength of the D and will need help from the D-Line that has been underperforming ...
 
The schedule is very hard 
Out of Conference the cards play at Kentucky ,at Utah, vs S Miss ...a Gimmie vs Indiana st. and a upstart Arkansas St is sanwhiched between 2 tough BE road games ...

I am a Huge Fan of Randy Edsall ... He has Built a very nice program in Stoors...
 
This year the Huskies lose alot of talent off LY's 8 win team ...
But things are not that BAD.
The O-Line that was paved the way for a amazing 215 yards per game rushing losses it's top 2 , But  it does return 4 players with starting exp..
 
The Huskies will have to be better Passing the Ball this year (116th Pass eff. LY)
Zach Frazier a former ND high recruit showed almost nothing LY. and is battling for the Job this year...
 
The top 4 tacklers are back this year and the D should be the key to success in 09...
 
I really Love the So DT's Twyon Martin and Kendall Reyes...DE SR. Lyndsey Witten is ready to make a Huge splash in the BE after 5sacks in a reserve role LY 
 
The LB's are the best Unit on the team ...
Scott Lutrus is everywhere leading the Huskies in Tackles with 109 while making 9 TKFL...
 
While the secondary losses their best ever in Darius Butler they do return 3 of 4 ...Size at CB (both 5-9) may be a issue with all the tall rangy WR's in the BE...
 
 
I will be Fading UConn the first 3 weeks at Ohio , vs North Carolina and at Baylor

CMU has a very explosive Offense led by SR QB Dan LeFevour who is also know as "Tim Tebow lite" I wouldn't go that far but Dan has put up some Fantastic Numbers .. In 2007 he became only the 2nd QB in NCAA History to throw for 3000 and run for 1000 yards ...Injuries did cost Lefevour some time last year and Talented Backup Brian Brunner is gone so a lengthy Injury this year and the Chipps could be in trouble ...
 
The Running game can only be better than the 3.6 YPC of LY...Plenty of speedy backs ont he roster but not much Power ..
 
The Wr's are loaded with the top 3 targets retruning including Antonio Brown who caught 93 Balls LY and is a very dangerous KR/PR...
 
The O-Line was a big time  weakness LY and this year might be more of the same .. The OT's are really light at 257 and 281 but that is the plan...
Not Much depth either...
 
 
The Defense has 10 Returning starters .They must improve upon the 30.2 PPG allowed LY
 
DE's Sam Williams and Fran Zombo form the MAC's best duo combining for 24.5 Takcles for a loss...
 
The Only concern on the Line is tackle Depth...
 
 
MLB Nick Bellore is a tackling machine registering 148 LY 1st team All MAC  
 
The secondary returns intact with 10 players retruning with starting exp.. although they could not stop anyone LY 287 yards allowed and 62.9%.....
 
 
Central Michigan has 3 almost sure losses on the schedule
at Arizona , at Michigan St, and at Boston College ...
 
the other 9 games are winnable but any injury to QB Lefevour would be crushing with the depth having ???...
 
On paper this is CMU's best team since 2006 when the Chipps went 10-4....
 
Should be some ATS value in CMU starting in week 4 when they host Akron ... The Chipps might be a great ATS play vs the MAC and a Great fade vs the 3 BCS Schools...

QB Austin Arnaud put up some good garbage time stats LY(just under 3200 Total Yards 20 T TD's and 10INts) as the Cyclones were playing from behind often ...
 
The O_line will go throught some growing pains learning a new system but it does return some talent and is the largest line in the FBS ,AVG. 332 LBS
 
The Defense was a flat out joke Last year as Chizik Gambled and lost way too much ... 4.8 YPC ,35.8 PPG, and 277 Yards passing allowed...
 
I don't see ISU winning any games in the BIG12...

While QB Todd Brandstater is gone , I think the QB's could actually put up better numbers this year..
JR Ryan Colburn has a good arm for the deep ball and has decent mobility...
Eventually FR. Derek Carr(David's brother) will steal the show ...Ebhan Feathers is also in the mix and has the best mobility of the 3..
 
The Bulldogs are loaded in the Backfield...
Ryan Matthews has had injury problems but has a carrer 5.7 YPC..
Lonyae Miller avg 6.8 YPC LY and had 812 Yards and 7 TD's
Anthony Harding also is back after 822 yards and 6 TD's///
 
 
TE/HB Bear Pascoe is gone off to the NFL . His Cousin Vince will try anf fill his Big shoes..
The WR's and TE's will need to stay healthy this year something that has been a problem for 3+ years now ...
Seyi Ajirotutu had 47 catches LY witht a very good 16.9 YPR...
Chastin West,Marlon Moore and Devon Wylie are all back as well...
 
The O-Line looks good again..
as usual Pat Hill looks to have another solid line ...

The Defense has been the Problem for Fresno St. the last 3 years ...

Kris Adams had a fantastic season LY catching 50 Balls with a amazing 19.2 YPR and 14 Td's ...
 Jeff Moturi caught 51 Balls and 9 TD's LY...
Tufick Shadrawy is a very good option at the X Receiver ...
 
The O-Line should be better if it stays healthy ...
4 Starters return with 86 Career starts 25 in FBS...
Pass protection needs to be better after allowing 27 Sacks LY..
 
The Miners Big Problem is Defense
UTEP has given up 37 and 37.1 PPG the last 2 years ..
115th in the NCAA LY in total Defense..

Hopefully Osia Lewis's 3-3-5 scheme will work betetr this year ...
11 Season ending Injuries destroyed any chance the Miners had of being better on D ...
 
Utep does catch some breaks in the CUSA Schedule with the Best West Foes (Tulsa and Houston) coming to El Paso...
 
I will take a wait and see approach on the Miners this year .. everything ATS depends on the Defense ... Will they stop anyone ??? s
