Mizzou b2b roadies and mauk has be shakey. Dobbs has added life to the Vols O, and their defense is solid (even though missing a couple key guys)....I like Tenn to pull away and win 30-17

I agree with most everything you said, especially about not paying attention to the talking heads on espn. I do happen to believe stats and trends are important in "capping". That word is very over used on this forum.
How can you analyze matchups without the stats? Trends are trends for a reason. History tends to repeat itself. Like knowing Notre Dame always has a hard time in East Lansing no matter how good or bad each team is that year.
But I do understand your point about trusting the line, and the nonsense about traps. I am a big believer in the Vegas does the capping, you try to find an edge in the matchups and conditions of the game. Conditions is more of a horse handicapping term, but playing the ponies will make you a better sports bettor.
Now I'm rambling.... Good stuff as always Train
If you follow the game at all, you already know the "important trends"...like b2b road games etc. Know that a team in a particular set of circumstances is 70-30 since 1980 doesnt help me at all and if it was a great tool, there would be many guys winning on trends alone with the intenet readily available. Stats will almost always lead you to the favorite because on paper they are the better team.....

The beat down wont do much, you are correct....however, NOT neating them down will (see TCU vs Kansas).....

GL this weekend, and take that mask off, you'll scare your kid.

Big Ern, my man. I agree, most of the full length movies are pretty solid.

Gotta keep the mask on to toughen the little girl up....its a mean world. You are either eating livers with faca beans and chianti or you're in Buffalo Bills well putting lotion on.....

While I'm thinking about it, my apologies to all for very rarely doing a writeup and just posting plays.  More wins than losses especially the larger plays will have to speak for itself.  I always tell my wife just think if I had the time to completely do this "the right way."  A goal for retirement I suppose. It would be great to have 40+ hours a week dedicated to football capping, wouldn't it?

Back to the topic at hand:
4 year old:  Blaze & the Monster Machines
    2 year old:  Team Umizoomi

BOL this week Train.  On a few of the same plays.

    TD

I'm kinda lucky that I work evenings and have some down time to check out covers and watch games. Still, some weeks picks is all I put out as writeups more often than not are that helpful....I can make a case for betting either side (usually) that sounds pretty convincing.

    I like your retirement goal.

And I 100% do agree with "it doesn't matter what other people think". If I had my money back from every time I let an "expert" or even some random dope talk me into or out of a bet that I lost… I'd be a lot better off.

I agree about the weather, but its impossible to predict or worry about when lines are released. Obviously closer to game time if its gonna be a blizzard or 50 mph winds, then yes, thats need to know info,,,

Georgia is going to the SEC title game....Lets just say Pinkel will make some "poor coaching decisions" and the Vols will win by double digits. The SEC cant really afford to have Mizzou in the title game 2 years in a row.....Not a conspiracy, just a fact.....

Mauk hasnt faired well vs decent defenses and MU on b2b road games will spell doom for my Tigers.....
