NCAA Bowl Ponderings and Plays Thread

4* Penn St. +2' over Clemson

3* San Diego St. +7 over North Texas 

3* Houston -1' over LSU

Been trying to post for the last 2 hours. Effing Gateway timeout. 

4* Penn St. +2'   I was shocked to see Clemson favored here. The Big Ten has dominated the ACC in this bowl. And the weather was certainly Big Ten-esque with temps in the low 30s. Both teams had opt outs but Clemson was missing 14 starters due to injuries or opt outs. I actually did writeups for the three games I played but they failed to post. I'm on a great run right now, at least on the college side. 8-1 ATS in December, including 3-0 on 4 unit plays. 

3* San Diego St. +7 Got an unlikely back door cover! Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Need Houston for a clean sweep.

3* Houston -1'  10-1 ATS so far in the month of December!

Thanks, but I don't know about that. I had a good October and have had a real good December, but September and November.....not so much. Although I DID hit my GOTY with Vandy over Tennessee Thanksgiving weekend. Bowl game of the year is in the works. 

4* Illinois +3 over Tennessee - The Big Ten is 4-0 SU and ATS so far this bowl season, and the Illini will be bringing some chilly Big Ten weather with them to Nashville with temps in the mid 30s. But the biggest reason I like this game is the Volunteers defense, or lack of it. Against fellow bowlers this year the Vols are 1-4 SU and ATS and have allowed 38.6 points a game, and at least 33 points in each. Plus, they've had four defensive starters opt out of this one, as well as leading receiver Chris Brazzell. Illinois will be missing LT J.C. Davis, but as far as I know that's the only significant opt out. They went 4-3 SU and 3-3-1 ATS against fellow bowlers, but I'll give them a pass for losing to Indiana and Ohio St. They actually scored a season high 16 points against that Buckeye defense and outgained them by 23 yards in a 34-16 loss in Champaign. The BIG keeps rolling. 38-31, ILLINOIS!

4* Illinois+3   Now 11-1 ATS, 4-0 on four unit plays since the beginning of December. This isn't sustainable so tail at your own risk.
