Recruits dont make ALL of that 42-11 record. A coach has a lot to do with that.

Gameplanning is the 1st way to judge a coach. Than it's win percentage. IT'S PROVEN THAT ANYTIME YOU GIVE LES MILES TIME TO PREPARE FOR A TEAM HE BEATS THEM. NOT ONLY DO HE BEATS THEM HE HANDLY BEAT THEM.
He is underfeated in bowl games and that speak volumes. Look at how he gameplanned against Georgia Tech triple option. That's a perfect game to go back and look at. He had them looking so bad. Also he is a special teams wizard. Did you see that fake field goal against South Carolina 2 years ago? Or how about the onside kick against Georgia Tech that was successful and the Fake punt against Georgia Tech that was successful. The man is a good coach. And if you guys think he's overrated than you all have it twisted he's severely underrated. YOU DONT WIN A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AND A SEC CHAMPIONSHIP OFF OF LUCK
Come on, LSU has a fantastic coaching staff. Its not Les Miles. Pellini had more to do with their NC win than Miles.
Nobody is saying you can win a NC with luck. Not at all. But you win a NC because of the program. Certain programs are at such a high level, they recruit themselves now. Les Miles can take a leave of absence right now, and the special teams coach could take over and they would be in the same boat.

Couldnt have said it better myself. However, in Miles defense, college football is more about recruiting than gameday coaching. If you recruit a top 5 class every yr u dont even have to coach in 8 or 9 games. He is an atrocious gameday coach, but he will continue to maximize his strengths (recruiting) and minimize his weaknesses by hiring guys like Pelini, Chavis etc.

Completely agree. it is about recruiting, and when you combine that with great coaching (for example Urban), its a deadly combination.

Kiffin did not steal anybody from LSU.
He hired Ed Odgeron from the Saints as a Dline coach who brought in all those recruits for Pete Carrol.
Odgeron brought in Bush, Lienert and more

Kiffin stole somebody else besides Orgeron. I knew about him. he's great. But he stole someone from Alabama, I believe. Paid him almost double what he was making. He might even be one of the highest paid assistant coaches out there. Man, I just cant think of his name.

Lance Thompson from Alabama! Thats the guy I was thinking of. He was Saban's right hand man since their days at LSU.
