Why wouldn’t you go for the win there? A couple passes and you’re in field goal range. Go for the win. Playing for OT was not the play.

you say a couple passes like any body can just line up under center and make those passes. You have to know your team’s strengths and weaknesses and having Drew back there you have to realize having him dropping back to drive down the field was not the best idea.

You are aware that scouts (not me) say that if he re-classifies for this draft he would go top 3. I guess he's not that awful.

as a good coach you gotta know your QB is not capable to do this and not put him in a position to look bad. That’s exactly what Franklin did. He basically said fuck it, what’s worst that could happen instead of putting his team in the best position to win. You sir do not know ball.

Notre Dame bettor here.

Absolutely wrong decision for Franklin to get aggressive there at the end.  Same exact thing as Kirby Smart 1H vs Notre Dame.  Cost them both the game.  

Allar was terrible all night. Run the ball. As someone said you owned the trenches. Run the ball, maybe a jet sweep or some sort of trick play, misdirection and hope you rip a big run and then you can start chucking.  

This was classic James Franklin.

This loss is 100% on Allar. Not Franklin. They had a chance to win at the end and the QB made a bad decision.

Franklin is a goof. I think this makes him like 1-13 vs AP top 10 teams.  Brutal

Today he did what he normally does…loses a big game. Whether it being qbs fault or his, it was bound to happen.   
His players let him down at the end this time

I never implied I thought he was top 3 material. I am talking about what I am reading. I agree. Its overblown. He has a strong arm and can run a bit. His football IQ and accuracy is mediocre at best.

He is a project 100%.

But he will go back to Penn St next year, put up decent numbers and the hype machine will pump his draft status out of reality.
