LULZ i lost thousands on this one but obviously no sure thing i get the cover for ecu -6 there but man oh man did they butcher that i'm glad they lost. why they linedup in victory for first two downs knowing kneeling it 3 times would not run the clock out mathematically was impossible. why you don't just run the ball there 3 times and then kick the fg if you don't get the td or 1st or if you dont wanna do that kneel it 3 times then kick the fg. or even if you did what Van suggested by punting. that was the worst way i've ever seen a team lose ever

Ruffin McNeal is not very good at math apparently because he thought he could sit on it so he does on first down.
Then he does it on second down and UCF calls its last TO with 1:02.
3rd down the QB kind of runs backwards to about the 24. Wastes a few seconds extra but still 16 secs left.
4th down they take a 10 yard loss on a play I cant describe.
UCF gets ball on 34 with 10 secs.
15 yard out pattern

I wouldn't say you won either way.
They could have very easily have thrown to the endzone on 4th down, and if they started running from 1st down - it could have ended in a TD too.
That game was totally decided by the coaches.

I think you have 2 choices.
1. Kick the FG.
2. Throw to the end zone.
I do #1 if I have a decent FG, and if my FG kicker is a disaster I do #2.
You 100% do not take a 10 yard sack.
He had all kinds of options and he picked about the only one that could lose.
3. He could have had the QB run around for several seconds before taking a knee.
4. He could have snapped to the RB on 4th down and had the RB take a safety
5. He could have had the QB scramble for a couple seconds and then throw the ball very high in the air into the end zone.
6. Punting the ball would also win the game safely.
I think the FG would not be the best option (unless you bet EC -6.5) because it could be blocked and returned, and you have to worry about a kickoff return for a TD.

Bill Belichek would have thrown into the end zone on first down. You have to go for the throat imo. Also, the chances of throwing for a hail mary win are much much higher than scoring on a blocked FG. I don't think I've ever seen a blocked FG for a touchdown win in the waning seconds of the game but I've seen plenty of Hail Mary's win.
