My overall opinion of the offensive line is that it'll be one of the best in the country. With respect to the Virginia Tech game, I think they'll definitely be tested. Virginia Tech's best match-up on the field is their d-line versus Alabama's offensive line. Tech has one of the best defensive front 4s in the nation, and have two very good edge rushers in James Gayle and JR Collins. They are also deep along their defensive front. In other words, they are as Matt Millen loves to say "legit," and will provide a good opening day test for Alabama's offensive line.

Alabama's o-line faces one of the best front 7s in college football everyday in practice, so they won't be overwhelmed by Virginia Tech's talented front 4. Despite being very well prepared, I'm sure Alabama's o-line will make some mistakes. That said, I don't think a few mistakes by the offensive line will be nearly enough to counter the huge advantages Alabama has over Virginia Tech everywhere else on the field.

I have found 1st half UNDERS usually do very well the first week of the season. Out of the 11 games played so far, 7 of the 1st halfs have gone UNDER. That's a 64% winning angle so far. That's not bad.

Yes, the UNC/USC 1st half could have gone OVER, but by the same token the Ole Miss/Vandy game could have gone UNDER too.

I have several 1st half UNDERS going tomorrow, so hopefully I'll sweep the board on those tomorrow. May there be many 1st hald red zone turnovers in my future tomorrow.

Boom is n Clemson, and I lean Clemson as well. I also agree with Boom that I think the defenses will get more stops than most people think. I'll be on the 1st half UNDER.

jimmy, plays in blue for sat such as 1st half unders and such are just parlay fillers or do you throw down straight on them as well. After reading all 19 pages i was a little confused after reading page 1.

i know you bet your best bets and max bets so im just checking

Saban has hinted several times that the offense will look differently this season to fit their talent. Yes, Cooper may be the best wide receiver in the country, but Alabama has another 6 or 7 receivers that are absolute studs as well. So what Saban is really saying is that they want to get the ball in the hands of the many studs receivers they have, and TE OJ Howard is one of them.

Alabama's offense will be lethal. Virginia Tech is not going to stop them. They probably won't even slow them down much.

This is also correct. Ryan Kelly is a better center than Barrett Jones. Prior to last season, Jones had never played center. Kelly actually helped Jones learn the position. Kelly is outstanding. There are depth concerns at that position however.

As I have posted several times in the past, I think Alabama's offensive line will be one of the best in the country.

I really don't have a set answer. The other Saturday games are primarily parlay fillers. For example, I have all the early games (that I'm playing) parlayed with Alabama. Sometimes I do bet them straight, but that's usually weeknight games. Tomorrow, once the Alabama bets grade out, I may make some small individual bets on the late games.

I usually don't bet Alabama games but I've got them 11.5 first half as my best and only bet today. For all the reasons you stated I don't think the game will be close.

Alabama has a tendency to score the bulk of their points in the first half. They are an amazing road bet under Saban in the last 3 years, covering over 64% of the bets. Inversely they have been an awful home bet, due to the inflated lines from home field advantage.

Alabama is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games on neutral, with an ATS loss against their win against Georgia last year. Against both Michigan and ND, who are in my opinion much deeper and more talented than Vtech; Alabama was respectively up 24 points and 28 points at the half. Although this is a different team with a weaker and less explosive offensive line, they are better on defense and have more depth in the WR core than before.

First Half:

Alabama: 24

Vtech: 6

Jimmy thanks so much for all the advice; and also much gratitude to all on the forum. I am learning a LOT. Following most advice here, i am so far 2-0. i plan on taking some risks today with a couple of parlays i.e. alabama/kentucky teams; LSU/Alabama.
