Freak Pics!!! (Bowl Edition)
Umm, Groh hasn't been the coach at WF for like 3 years now if I am not mistaken-he is the DC at GaTech and and not a good one at that.

>>>A play on the SEC and a fade on the ACC. I hate fading Al Groh though. I think he's one of the most underrated coaches in the country. <<<

Probably going to play the Miss State game but I lean all the games that you have on deck. Not sure why you like Oklahoma though, tons of injuries to very key players and betting on Bob stoops in bowl games is usually a

good points- also the Oklahoma injuries were a long time ago and the new guys should have lots of playing/practice time under their belts. If they are in any way motivated they should win rather easily. They have superior talent, that doesn't always equate to covering the spread, but hopefully they will play like they are capable of playing.

Yes,that's right, thanks for the correction. Am sure he most likely meant Grobe also now that you mention it.

I'm guessing your a homer, but I look at games objectively. Bob stoops is 2-6 ATS in his last 8 bowl games, 1-4 ATS in their last 5. He's 6-6 in bowl games in general. We don't give a shit about winning straight up, we care about the spread. Bob stoops is mediocre straight up in bowls and pretty awful against the spread. Bet the Sooners cautiously.

just a thought on your one liner for byu/tulsa game. byu hasnt played a clearly tougher schedule. actually tulsa has sos of 55 and byu 97 according to sagarin. take the best 4 teams each has played and its not close tulsa played okla ok st boise and hou. byu played tcu tex utah utah st. no disrespect youve clearly been on a roll. gl with your plays
I was very tired last night and typing from memory. Forgot about Tulsa's early games against Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

I was pretty tired last night and typing from memory. Obviously I meant Jim Grobe not Al Groh. I always seem to mix them up.
Jim Grobe is never able to recruit any talent to Wake, yet he makes noise in the ACC almost every year. He went 5 & 3 again this season finishing only a game out of the Atlantic Division championship. He even won the ACC a few years ago with pretty much zero talent. Grobe is a guy who consistently does more with less.
Mississippi State is a far more talented team than Wake, and has played a much tougher schedule. They should be able to win the game today. It's the 6.5 points that worry me a little. Mississippi State hasn't exactly blown lesser opponents out this season.

It's not so much what I like about Oklahoma, it's what I don't like about Iowa. The few people I know who follow the Iowa program pretty closely all think they are going to get killed today.

Looking at Stoops' bowl record and using it to cap this game is a mistake IMO because this is not a typical bowl game for him. Bear Bryant and Tom Osbourne had similar big bowl bowl droughts and what was the main reasoning people pionted to? The fact that they kept making it that far. It's impossible to have a BCS bowl losing streak when you don't even make it that far.
My main pint is...I think it is a mistake to only look at Stoops' bowl record and use that as fade material when OU is playing a bad Iowa team that has an even worse secondary than OU (and that is hard to do LOL). BOL in whichever side you take though. I think OU is the safest play on the board today if you can get it at less than 14
