i got oregon to win it a few weeks ago

i actually think auburn is gonna win

i've watched a handful of oregon's games and yes they come back and win it in the 2nd half but my question is,

will they be able to do it in the championship game?

also they score a lot of their touchdowns on breaking it to the sideline and heading up field, i think auburn will be able to run sideline to sideline with them unlike most pac 10 teams

I have a friend who has a saying that goes like this...There is nothing wrong with a moron so long as they realize that they are a moron brcause they will not try things that get them or others hurt. On the other hand, a moron who thinks he/she is intelligent is not only a danger to themselves but others around them because they will attempt things they have no clue about. What is their record last year without him 8-5...Really? Seriously? what on gods green earth does that have to do with this team...NOTHING...Dyer, McCalebb, Fanin, Burns, Zackery, Adams, Blake and Lutzenkirken make Auburn much more then a one trick pony, but only someone who actually pays attention would know this...I seen where you said that you placed A large wager on Oregon at 40-1 before the season started and doubted you but not now. It would have took someone with your great knowledge to place that bet after losing your QB. As hard as it is to believe, you make ApocalypseLater look like a genius...You really are clueless...

I don't know where he got Oregon at 40-1.  Think there's some exaggerating going on there.  Among my other picks at the beggining of the year, I took Oregon at 22-1.  I put $500 on them.

I was seriously hoping for a SC upset in the SEC championship so that Oregon would most likely play TCU.  This game is a coin flip.  I can see either team winning by DD for different reasons, but more than likely I think the team with the ball last wins.

I'm just going to enjoy the game, put $5500 on Auburn to hedge my bet, I know I win.

Best of luck to both backers!!!

Although I am sure Chizik has some input, the Auburn defense is run by Ted Roof now. Regardless, it is obvious that you are not paying attention or just do not understand what a head coach is supposed to do. Not only has Chizik Hired one of the best coaching staff's in all of college football and more importantly gotten out of their way and let them do what he hired them for, Auburn's defense gets much better after halftime not because I say so, the numbers and outcomes do. It is irrelevant what he did at Texas or Iowa St, at Auburn he is getting it done a major scale and to suggest he is overrated simply means that you do not understand what the job of a head coach is. He is doing a great job getting people in place and letting them use their collective talents and I did not even mention the caliber of talent these guys have already and will continue to bring in as long as they are there...

I was simply commenting On Sarah claiming to have made a $1000 bet on Oregon at 40-1 on another thread she started (possible this one too, not sure). Great bet and good luck...

I was simply commenting On Sarah claiming to have made a $1000 bet on Oregon at 40-1 on another thread she started (possible this one too, not sure). Great bet and good luck...

I wonder if Auburn players and Oregon players (just family members of players, coaches, staff...) lay down bets like that, $100-$1000 to win it all. Isn't that what horse owners give their jockeys, like a winning ticket on the horse he's riding, like an incentive beyond his "commission."

Question is, would it be illegal for a family member to have money on their son's team to win it all?

Is there anything illegal about a player having money on his own team to win it all?

Since when does a past event matter for the present? Are Oregon players "struggling" with that statistic? Think not.

    And still more--

told ya!!! cam newton is your heisman winner!! auburns got this!

First of all, will you please stop trying to alter the English language? Proper nouns are capitalized, and possesive nouns carry a hyphen. These "rules" that you are IGNOR(e)-ant of make it difficult to understand you. Secondly, "no shit, Sherlock," and thanks again Nostradamus for your accurate Heisman prediction. Anyone would've guessed that, unless they were living the last 6 months in the South Pole, or had their head up your ass.

I told you! Cam Newton will be your Heisman winner! Auburn's got this!

[Does "this" refer to the Heisman or the NC game? I assume you were referring to the outcome of the game.]

Oregon (and the whole nation) is congratulating Cam Newton on his award. He won several others as well. He has been a remarkable player this season. He overcame a lot of adversity and he played with tremendous poise. He is quite a force at quarterback. I hope he plays and he does well.

I've read all the posts by you & Sarah up to now.  First, Sarah is clearly not clueless.  Second, you have already made at least a few comments that exposed you.  I'm not going to write a book here but I don't believe for a second that "supplement" you income from this. Neither do any of the knowledgable people on here if they read what enough of your posts.  You pat yourself on the back for your Ohio St & Stanford teaser.  You tease college games like that?  Very impressive.  lol

True. I knew educated people were on this forum

Let's ask the student: Is the sentence even correct?:

     "Auburn's got this."

-- Or, is it a grammatical error? "Auburn has got this" which is not shortened by any apostrophe?

There are so many mistakes when he writes, I'm beginning to believe Americans like Pirates11 learn their writing from cell phone texting more than literature.

First of all, let me waste another two minutes correcting this frosh's grammatical errors to make his pointed musings somewhat more comprehensible:

The Auburn Tigers are 19 for their last 19 on opening drives, even against teams from the Big East Conference--now that's when it matters most.

Secondly, The Big East has been a pathetic joke the last fivr years, and many are questioning whether they even deserve an automatic BCS berth. Their Conference Champion this year is UCONN, and they are not even ranked in the Top 25. In fact, there is no team from the Big East currently in the Top 20 (W. Virginia is #21). Yet the WAC has three teams ranked in the Top 25, and have no automatic bid. Please don't even bother explaining what caused you to fart out your statement about the one lone win over West Virginia as something that has anything even remotely linked to the NC game. The QB wasn't even Cam Newton, it was Chris Todd, and the Mountaineer QB threw 4 INTs.

Included in your 19-19 stat are some significant losses at the end of the 2009 season:

      Sat, Oct 31Sat, Nov 7Sat, Nov 14
    Sat, Oct 10 at Arkansas L 23-44 --
    Sat, Oct 17 Kentucky L 14-21 --
    Sat, Oct 24 at (9) LSU L 10-31 --
    (24) Mississippi W 33-20 --
    Furman W 63-31 --
    at Georgia L 24-31 --
    Fri, Nov 27 (2) Alabama L 21-26

Can you please change allegiances and root for Oregon? You are singlehandedly JINXING the Auburn Tigers with your stupidity. Just STFU.

I have OR ML and on a late placed futures bet at 11-1.  I also went to U of O for grad school so you could say Im somewhat biased!  Ive seen Oregon play and practice this year, there is definetely something special about this team as compared to previous years.  It really comes down to the level of conditioning expected of them in practice.  They aim to wear down opponents and dominate the second half, specifically the fourth quarter, which they have done quite effectively.  Oregon wins a close one here, though I do not think it will be as high scoring as some are expecting.

As for the grammatical issues, I dont expect perfect sentence structure or grammar when perusing the forums.  I view the forums as a more colloquial form of discussion, similar to if one were chatting in person.  I would, however, expect proper structuring in a formal piece such as a blog entry or published article.

    Just my 2c.  BOL

Fair enough. You are correct about one thing and that is posting shit like I have posted here is meaningless and a waste of time. It is easy to post shit on a forum and talk about what we do and sometimes one post leads to several more and we have wasted weeks of our time.

I thank you, Quantum Leap, Apocalypse now and Sarah for opening my eyes, but mostly you for finally waking me up so I can get my ass back to more constructive things with my time besides playing in a gambling forum on the internet. And as a parting thought, your opinions of me are irrelevant, you are but a name on a computer screen. I do not make a living betting on sports by a long shot but do supplement my income rather consistently for the most part and will soon be making money off moron's like you through affiliate sells...Best of luck...

I also could care less about grammar--grammar rules change over time, and many of them are lame to begin with. OK. But some of these idiots are just grandstanding and offer "facts" that are just biased opinions and ignore facts that work against their selection. When they do that and at the same time make gross, ignorant errors in writing, I simply feel it's almost a duty to harpoon the and do us all a favor.

I'm starting to believe Auburn is the wrong side in this one, simply because of the lame asses that are so arrogantly stupid coming into a post of the other side (Oregon) solely to try and piss off someone else (because they pretend to not listen). They are obviously betting small amounts of money and this is just a kind of charade. I think they belong on yahoo, not a betting forum.

You can't "make money off morons like you" in the United States; an affiliate is 15 years in jail in Oregon, and I'm sure Florida law isn't much different.

The bookmaker is the illegal party in online gambling, and if you choose to take make money with them, you are jointly liable.

An affiliate is the same as owning the book in United States law.

I hope the championship has as much passion as the members on this thread.

    I hope we see a Texas/USC type shootout! :)
