Sarah I hate to tell you this but most people are instantly going to discount your advice because your a girl. Not me, I personally find most of your arguments justifiable and objective, but most others. That's just the way it is, especially with these 30-45ers that think they know sports because they played in high school and thought they were something special mixed with the misogyny that went with those times. Obviously few here a professionals and make money from this, but everyone likes to think they are, especially with their money on the line. They'll defend their opinion to the death. And that's the beauty of sports betting, nothing is for sure so everyone has to have a particular opinion and it's only those that are right most often that make money. But that's where younger people like us can prosper because we don't see things the same way. Anyways to wrap this if you want my opinion (and I go to school in the northwest so i've been loving Oregon all year long, and I think they are underrated because nike has been pumping some serious cash through there) I'm taking Auburn with the points. Everyone is now seeing, from Vick, just how deadly a running quarterback is when used the right way. Cam newton can't be stopped. Oregon's offense probably won't start off competing and Auburn's size will stop the run well, so your Half bets I think would be the way to go too. Then Oregon's offense will pick up in the second half, especially when the subs are facing subs because all that Nike money has bought some good backups, but Cam will not lose and will end the season long story with a bow. The only way I see Oregon covering is by a backdoor cover and closing it to 2 in the end cause Auburn gives up a freebie or something like that. Keep making picks and just realize your never going to convert people away from their core beliefs (Picks). It's like if you were trying to argue which religion is better on here. It's not going to get much done but stir people up. There are some smart people on here, you have to find them though.

I'd have to agree with the notion that Auburn will play ball control and keep the Ducks offense on the sidelines.

Newton can move the chains at will. I don't believe the Oregon defense can stop him.

Oregon can score, no doubt about that.

I wouldn't predict a blowout, but Auburn wins this game handily. I'll be very surprised to see their punter take the field.

Looks like the tone has become markedly more civil around here.

The Auburn stalkers have been eradicated ! This thread is, for the moment, free of "SEC viruses"--perhaps oneday we'll discover the SEC was behing these viscious hackers (!).

I enjoy thoughtless rants because they can be fun. But these posters can became boring, annoying and relentless--and they can cost us money with their "Tom- foolery."

Count on me to help clear them out again should they by chance reappear-- their goal is to cloud our thinking and deter us from reaching others. But we are just as determined. We are all suckers for the truth.

When you spoke the truth, Sarah, you woke them up.

It took a few weeks but that's alright. Better late than never. I have been converted from the first song I was chirping away with all the other cats after the Alabama and SEC Championship games:  "Auburn is superior/PAC10 is inferior/ and "Cam is Unstoppable" Smoke and mirrors and poker games are part of the fun of the contest--ok, that's the way it is.

I have never had a clearer feeling about a game, and it appears unequivocally (barring anything wierd happening between now and then) that these two teams are on track for only one outcome being generated from this game:

     "Oregon Ducks--2011 NCAA Football Champions"

    Good post Sarah

quantam please shut up. no one cares about your final verdict on this post and that youre glad all the "tom foolery" is gone. what kind of douche uses the term "tom foolery"?

sarah spoke the truth? no. she gave her opinion, and opinion that you agree with, so now its the truth? you are as bad as all the auburn/SEC backers that come in here. you just use complete sentences. now please go away and come back after the game in january 10th and realize that, while many sec homers are very very annoying and have a subjective point of view on this game, at the end of the day, it is the right view.

    fuck off now, thanks

I've been watching Oregon all my life, and Chip Kelly's philosophy is much different than previous coaches. I can tell you, in my opinion, the Ducks will continue to take risks against Cam Newton on defense. Chip takes chances on defense to get the ball back to LaMichael, Darron and company.

I don't think the question here is, "Can the Ducks stop Cam Newton?" The question on defense is, "Can we make enough plays to feed our tempo on offense?" The Ducks aren't a shutdown defense, and they're not trying to fool anyone either. But, they make timely plays in the red zone, and that's where it counts.

Can Oregon win? Yes. Will they? It depends if they can avoid SIW (self-inflicted wounds), as Chip would say---penalties, turnovers. Everything needs to be crisp as it was in our Stanford route.

Most SEC teams trounce teams in the NCS because of inferior speed on the opponents side. The Ducks are built to fly. Can Auburn's defense handle the tempo for 4 QTRs? No one else has.

I've always been told to only bet a live dog, and the Ducks are definitely a live dog. Auburn hasn't played an offense with the firepower of Oregon, and our tempo can't be replicated in practice. Auburn may play fast, but we play faster.

Rambling aside, "Can the Ducks stop Cam Newton?" Maybe a few times. Can Auburn stop Oregon? That's the question for Duck backers. The Ducks wear on teams; both offensively, and defensively. We rotate 20 players on defense---our offense is used to all the snaps, and when the opponent is getting tired late in the game, our defense is still fresh from all the rotations. Everyone talks about how much we wear down a defense with our tempo, but we also wear down the other teams offense by making them play so many extra snaps. We owned the 4th QTR this year.

Defense wins championships is out the window on 1/10/2011. Oregon will be looking to ride their offense, as they have all year, to a title win by setting the tempo of the game.

PS: I am a Duck fan. So, take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Cam Newton play against the best of the best in college football and he won all of them. He could run with his legs, pass with his hands and his receiver doesn't matter who. They all help out. I believe Auburn will burned the ducks with high scores. Yes the ducks is great teams, but they are not auburn this year.

What you have never realized and painted yourself into a corner on from the start arguing this game just to be right because your ego is so very massive is the fact that Newton is basically unstoppable when you add in the components that he is surrounded with on offense and the Oregon defense will be the 5th or 6th at best Auburn has seen this year due to physicality. You are so dead set on being right that you have now committed yourself to the team that will not only lose, but in all probability will get blown out. I never wish bad thing on another sports bettor, but you deserve what is going to happen if anyone does...

    Virus definitions--latest update--

~bringit~-this is a new trojan virus hybrid orignating from the South somewhere. It insults entire races of people (such as "orientals") but evades detection from the Administrators who try protect the system, since it evades detection and/or disnegages their ability to eliminate them. Some of these SEC viruses also insult women, blacks, gays, basically all groups of people. The goal is for everyone else to realize the SEC is the best Conference in America, in an effort to raise their collective low self-esteem.

the droxside virus, AKA  is a worm. It is merely a parasite. It's only goal is to slow down all processes. By putting everyone to sleep with its own repeated opinions, it manages to hijack all other systems. It is a disruptive virus nothing more. It is difficult to remove this worm because it seeks to stay in the middle of the pack, hiding from the Administrator/Moderator. It usually appears when the system is turned off, thus evading detection. This worm has also been called "cockroach" because of its ability to return when the anti-virus systems are in dormant mode.

Great with computers and video games alone in the safety of his own home, but when forced to actually become social reverting to robot talk and other mechanism's to avoid reality.

I thought for sure the oregon money line would be better than the +112 I got. I guess that means Joe Public thinks these teams are pretty even. Any how I'm going large on Oregon, just to cheer them on and because no other sport is nearly as much fun to bet on than football. Go Ducks, getting real tired of sports guys saying silly shit like "Cam Newton would be the greatest sports story ever if it wasn't for his father." I really heard that, the tards are out in force regarding the deification of SEC football. I guess we can all have fun talking to each other but we just have to learn to ignore some seriously immature poeple who post here just to get attention. Nice to see your thread last this long  Sarah, I wish I could be in a rowdy bar in oregon tonight, it would be fun.

Easily "bashable" statement, and I won't argue a bit, but I'm a KARMA guy if there ever is one.  If you fight dogs - you get bounced from the NFL playoffs, if your daddy tries to get you paid to play college ball - you lose the National Championship.

That my friends, is the way it all shakes out.

Bonuses to the play...70% public on Auburn, and a hottie on the ducks !!  I'll take them DUCKS + 2 1/2.

Oh yeah, and the "professional" has been great fade material as of late, so there's 4 reasons.  Sign me up !!

Upon further review, I still like the Ducks, but I believe the larger play will be on the UNDER.  I stopped using my statistical energy towards raw stats and utilizing it towards exactly WHEN lines move around, and the accuracy of such moves.  To keep it vanilla, there's nothing else on the board (football that is), and the movement is much sharper, with far greater accuracy.  let's face it, the obvious blind plays rarely work out, especially when the public is all over them.  The biggest rake (on the wagering board) for the dessert dawgs tonight will be all that over money.  Moneylines aren't paying much, and the spread is still moving down w/ 70% on Auburn.  That folks, is like setting up those Applegate fences to corral the pigs into the semi trailer........and you know where those ;pigs are going.  It's like the stock market, the best path to success is recognizing when the "big boys" buy and sell.  If they buy heavily into something, buy into it as well.  If you have it, and they're selling it off in groves, get rid of it !!  Well, they're selling off that over !!

Chattanooga scored 24 points against Auburn.

The Ducks score more points per game, give up fewer points, have a better punting game, fewer penalties, and score so fast that the time of possession is a joke.

Strenght of schedule?  They beat a very good Stanford team by 19 points.

This isn't the same Oregon team as last year, so don't expect the same results in a bowl game.

The only way to beat Oregon is to play perfect football.  I have watched Auburn enough to know they can't do that.

Jan. 11 headlines: PAC-10 beats SEC.

"DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN".....I would not print that Pac10 headline just yet.
