As a coach who has coached the high school level for 10 plus years he did the right and only thing to do there. Tons of bad stuff can happen trying to run it in. one thing happens by going out of bounds and thats game over.
I can tell you've never been a coach kid.

Don't be silly, he was a true freshman and he did what they teach you.....don't showboat and lose possession or spike the ball before the endzone or get stripped from behind etc.
second he touched out of bounds the game was over.
Don't compare a defensive player in space returning an INT as the same risk for a QB taking a knee.

what if the WR that was near him strips him from behind, he took the safe route and went out of bounds, he should have just went down right away really but got smart while running and took the safe route and went out of bounds, it sucks it could have been the TT or the game over, but you cant fault him for playing it safe
