i guess its maybe he doesnt belong to a sportsbook online.

fuck whenever i'm at 1.5 or 2 i ALWAYS CASH OUT.   i've seen people never get their cash if it's a substantial amount.

The only sad thing about this story is that you are actually posting it and sharing it.  Frankly if you can't afford to lose it you shouldn't bet it!  These stories are a dime a dozen!  I mean no disrespect but these forums are not for stories.  That's what your local bar is for---to sit on the corner stool and drown your sorrows while you tell someone your story actually thinking they care.

Here you want some good advice.  Here it is.  No more bets until you've forgotten about the beating you just took.  Could be 1 week, could be 3 months.  But your mind won't be right until you've forgotten about this loss and it doesn't bother you anymore-aka doesn't even enter your mind.

On top of that you don't have a money mgmt issue, you have a greed issue.  I suppose you could call that money mgmt.  As others have mentioned cash out when you hit a certain goal and put it aside.  There are little tricks like that you can do to make it harder for you to go on tilt and cough everything back up, because no matter how good you are everybody runs into a bad streak sooner or later.

And you will miss NOTHING by skipping weeks or months at a time.  THERE WILL ALWAYS, YES ALWAYS be a contest to bet on, so if you think your somehow missing out the best wagering opportunities you are VERY MISTAKEN.

take that 500 and play it out ... start over small bets ... and see who much you get back .. dont plan on getting it all back .. but if you lose that 500 your done ..

are u serious? you are not doing bad at all better than a lot of people. i was down like you but double i lost three week str8 i got tired of losing and i was just like how can i get back on track.. one of my buddy was like go get a hair cut, wash ur hands. i did do what he said also i cleaned up around the house kepted my self moving around.. next thing i knew it week 5 i won it back. accepted for 2 units. now i am up 14 units this season. maybe what else might help is see who is winning and maybe tail them/

zzzzzz i didnt lose bc of making bad picks overtime, ytd i have a very respectable record. I lost because i had a terrible week and make huge bets that lost, for example 2k on Wisky, just terrible bankroll mgmt and bad luck.

ok i think i didnt explain myself clearly... i CAN afford it.

by BROKE i meant the money i had set aside to GAMBLE before week one is now lost. Im not saying i have no money in the bank or that i do this for a living.

And im not crying over it, im just saying that whether or not i make 3k or 20k a month.... turning 1k into 8k gambling in sports and then losing it all in a couple weeks sucks..

anyway... im not broke broke... i just lost my betting bankroll.

no disrespect but you dont chase on 7 team teasers man. It decreases your chances of coming back.

I always cash out to my origianl deposit once i double up. If you put in 500 and get it to 8grand you should have cashed out at least 6 grand. And when you lose what left then put another 500 in. You will always lose money if you don't cash out.

It doesn't matter if he hits on uconn, he will keep betting to he loses it all back. I always cash out as soon as i can, to get my original deposit back. If you don't have that mind-set, you will never win.

I dont know why people are so insensitive but that is the nature of this website sometimes. There is a reality to this very expensive hobby we choose to partake in and I am appreciative that this guy had the courage to post his story. I had 2 good years in 08 & 09 and lost quick in 10 and quit for rest of the year..

Good year so far w/ good $ management.
