You have some serious reading comprehension issues. Here is exactly what I said.
Boise would lose to about 10-15 teams in the country on neutral field, and most of those games would not be competitive. Every team they would face would pretty much have superior talent across the board.
That does not say that there are 10-15 teams in the country that would "spank" Boise unless you interpret "spank" to mean lose.
That post also does not even mention Bama except to say that Boise beating Virginia Tech does not qualify them to play in a national championship game anymore than it qualified Alabama to play in the national championship game last season. In fact after Alabama beat Virginia Tech many pundits were dismissing the win as saying, "well, it was only Virginia Tech." Fast forward a year, and beating Virginia Tech is now the gold standard for entry into the national championship game. That's as ridiculous as your reading comprehension skills.
You said 10-15 teams would beat Bosie and it would not be competitive. DId you not say that? So if the game is NOT COMPETITIVE, your also saying they would beat Bosie easily. Yeah go check what your saying and really think you should learn learn your grammer. So again, you said 10-15 teams would beat Bosie easily. Again I ask for the 5th time, How do you figure that? How can 10-15 teams in the nation beat Boise easily? Again I ask and ask and ask. Stop avioding the question.

I hope Boise St makes it, so when they lose a non BCS conference team won' play for the title hopefully again. If they wanna be a big boy team then play in a big boy conference. Week in and week out they do not have tough teams to play. They are favored by 25 plus every game or more. I love the program there dont get me wrong. they just need to move to one of the 6 big conferences.

Good point RJSizzle...but even without the income and budget, just based on the eye test this season, I think this 2010 Boise St. team could win in any conference, including the SEC....that is the basic point I am trying to make here...I don't know how you could watch this years Boise team, and say they would for sure lose to any team in SEC...Boise deserves a chance this season if they run the table....

Once again your reading comprehension fails you. My post does not say that Boise would not be competitive against 10-15 teams in the country. It says that 10-15 teams in the country would beat Boise, and out of those 10-15 games MOST would not be comptetive . . . NOT ALL as you want to read into it..
I've already explained in great detail why that is. It just takes a little reading, and a little reading comprehension . . . there is that reading comprehension thingy again. It is because they do not have the talent to consistently compete against top tier teams because of the large disparity in talent and depth.
I've explained that the average recruiting ranking of Boise's last 5 recruiting classes is 82. That's 82 out of 120 teams. Does that mean Boise is the 82nd best team in the nation? No, of course not. Does that mean Boise is not good? No, of course not. Does that mean Boise doesn't have very talented players on their roster? No, of course it doesn't. What it does mean is exactly what I said.
If they had to play in the SEC week in and week out, their anorexically thin roster would not hold up over the course of a season. That's why they would have a losing conference record in the SEC (which means they would be no better than 3 & 5). And 5 loss teams don't play for national championships. To play for national championships you have to do more than beat two mediocre teams and have 10 bye weeks.

I think the reason why this whole argument is silly is because Boise isnt in the SEC.
Meaning, they dont have the same income. The same budgets. The same recruiting staffs. They dont recruit the same players.
If they were in the SEC, they would have all those things. They would be recruiting players away from their SEC rivals.
The only good argument is that if Boise played in the SEC there would be more parity.
Of course all of those things are true RJ. Many of the ACC schools that are in close proximity to SEC schools are constantly losing prize recruits because those recruits want to play in the SEC. That is the main reason that this year's #1 recruit in the nation (from South Carolina) Jadeveon Clowney is not seriously considering Clemson. It appears almost certain at this point that he will go to South Carolina.
Virginia Tech would be much better too if they were in the SEC becasue they would attract better players by the mere fact they are in the SEC. But all of that just proves my point. Boise does not enjoy the advantages of the SEC schools which means they don't attract the NFL talent that the SEC does. And better players = better teams. That is eaxtly why Boise is (for the most part) inferior to SEC schools.

This shit is still going on........ My god, you folks don't give up. Look at the facts. You are backing a team that beat a mediocre ACC team by 3 points and should of lost. This is just not rational. Lets wait til after the Nevada game because I think Boise will have trouble there. Boise will get a little taste of it's own medicine when Nevada will treat this game like it's national championship. And if Nevada pulls off the monumental upset, do we throw them into the BCS championship picture?? I think not!!!!

Yup . . . seriously. And anyone with a football IQ in excess that of a walnut understands that.
no... only YOU seem to understand that... i'm pretty sure i've been following this game as long or longer than you... i know this game, i know my eyes!
for you to say Boise is not even a top 10 or 15 team is pure and utter bullshit... there is no argument that needs to be made... Boise makes that argument on the field every week, and every year, and brain-washed SEC zealots like you refuse to swallow it...
you're full of shit! 2 weeks ago Bama was the greatest team on Earth, and now this week they are shit, according to you... you talk about being a football genius, but every single week we all see that you are nothing but an SEC-Bama Homer, who can't evaluate CFB objectively to save his life...

The problem is the only BCS Conference that Boise would win is the Big Least. In any of the others they would have multiple losses, and in the SEC I don;t think they would even have a winning conference record.

oddsmakers would have a fun time making a line for Bama-Boise, i'm thinking... seeing as how they made Bama a 38 pt home favorite against SJ St, and made Boise a 41 pt road favorite against SJ St...

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Boise won't even make through their conference schedule without a loss. One of these three teams will step up and bite them, La. Tech, Nevada or Fresno St. Hell, Hawaii might have a shot too. And when that happens, I will reopen this thread for everyone of you to take a big serving of crow. All this eye test bullshit and speculation and the only team they have played worth a crap lost to James Madison. Talk is cheap folks. Alot of golf left, were on about the eighth hole and you've already pencil whipped yourself into a national championship.

If "if" and "buts" were candy and nuts, oh what a christmas it would be. If my aunt had a dick, she'd be my uncle. This argument is about this team, 2010 Boise State Broncos, not a make believe team....... Hopefully , none you are lawyers...... poor arguments!!

RJsizzle hit the nail in the coffin for this thread. Case closed.
Stick to hockey hose head. You'll play football on a 110 yard field w/ 3 downs and american football rejects........ as a matter of fact probably a bunch of Boise grads.

Until there is a playoff system, it is only conjecture. Boise knows how people perceive them. If they felt they were getting screwed by the pollsters, then they would schedule tougher games or change conferences.
Boise is a very good team. You can't discount the fact that it is easier to get up for 2 tough games a year versus 10 SEC conference games. If Boise played someone with the talent level of Tennessee(which is mediocre in the SEC this year) even 8 times in a season, the attrition and injuries would show up so much more. The Alabama South Carolina game wa a great example. Bama plays tough road game after tough road game, six I think are where the other team is coming off a bye week. That's tough.
I think the angle everyone should take is that Boise's greatness and weak conference show how much a playoff system is needed. Boise St's body of work pales to others from power conferences, but they are good and deserving of a shot in a playoff system. Until that sytem is in place, the pressure is on them to create their own destiny via tougher opponents or changing conferences.
I'm not a fan of an SEC school, but acknowledge they are the strongest conference. Like it or not, they will have a representative in the title game. The championship game assures it each year.

I agree that they should change conferences. The problem is that they won't lose a bowl game because they don't get to play the big dogs in a bowl. Bowl game prep and regular game prep are totally different. If a big school feels slighted with their bowl slot, they could lose out of shear apathy. I've lost money on those games, believe me. Smaller schools play bowl games more like Boise plays their bowl games and their 1.5 tough opponents a season. The play with a chip and with purpose. Boise could beat many of their regular season opponents without even watching game film. That's an advantage to them when a bigger opponent may be looming.

I might be full of shit, but if you can't see that Boise had no business beating VT or staying within DD of them, you're in serious need of an optometrist.
Boise does not make that argument every week. People like you with a Kool-aide mustaches have a difficult time wrapping your arms around that. Boise is not a top 10 or top 15 team because they don't have the talent to be a top 10 or top 15 team. When they beat sombody of note, I may change my mind . . . oh wait . . . scratch that . . . they don't play anyone of note.
Bama is still probably the best team in the country. Where have I said Bama was shit? I said before the season started that Bama would probably lose at least one game, and the game they would most likely lose is the South Carolina game. I can dig you my exact words if you want me to.
I also said before the South Carolina game that I would fade Bama in the Ole Miss game because I knew I would get an over-inflated number. In other words, things are progressing pretty nuch as I said they would.
How is fading Bama being a SEC-Bama homer?

I would give Hawaii a shot if they were playing on the island, but they're not. Hawaii is usually not very good on the mainland, and Boise is very good at home so I don't see Boise slipping up there.

Don't know if 6 players currently in the NFL qualifies for being able to recruit NFL talent or not, but 6 right now and probably 2 or 3 more after this season. 9 players in the NFL isn't that bad of a record, or is it? BOL

Very interesting thread and we all have our opinions. The only one I would argue to the death over is the fact that everyone including Boise St, TCU and Utah deserve a chance to play for the championship and the way you do this is a 16 team play-off. I do not care about arguments as to why it cannot be done when every single other sport does it (including the lower level football divisions), JUST DO IT.

A lot of talk about how Boise's wins over Va Tech and Oregon St aren't really big or valuable wins. Here is an opionion and a silly fact to think about:
1) Don't you think Va Tech has a chance to run the table in the ACC and make it to a BCS game themselves? If that happens they will almost certainly be a top 12-15 team in the polls.
2) I hate doing this because every week and matchup is different. That said, Boise handles Oregon St fairly easily. Oregon St beats Arizona on the road. Iowa could not handle Arizona on the road. Iowa is the 2nd best if not THE best team in the Big Ten. If Iowa, Va Tech, and Boise run the table and all win the respective conferences......topped with one more potential upset by OSU and Boise St could be top 2 BCS even if an SEC, Big 12, and Pac 10 team go undefeated.

The Mountain West is much more of a legit conference than the WAC, so I would give TCU and Utah a lot more credit than Boise in that regard.
Of course everyone understands the need for a playoff. I think 8 teams would be sufficient. That would add 3 more games to the end of the regular season for two teams.
A playoff would really help teams like Boise much anyhow in my opinion. There are not built to play 3 top tier teams back-to-back-to-back. If they didn't lost the first, they would surely lose the second.

While I really prefer a 16 team play-off, your proposal of a 8 game play-off would be great as well. As far as which conference is stronger, adding games to the end of the season and all the rest I personally do not care so much. The problem now is everyone and their grandmpther (including myself) have strong opinions they think correct and this needs to be taken out of the equation. No more who deserves this or who will do that...Just get a system in place where all the conference champions and 4 to 6 at large teams play somewhere, somehow and let the teams decide this...
