I have decided to start a thread about each weeks biggest trap game.  There are obviously a lot of games that fit into this category so I will be deciding which is the biggest (for the sake of the thread).  I will obviously keep a running tally of the games.


Week 1:  Minnesota at Syracuse +6.5

Result:  MN: 23  SYR 20  (Syracuse cover)


Week 2:  UNC at UCONN +4.5

JT...I am not so sure that MINN might not have another trap game this week

I am starting to think that betting Air Force is the trap, there are a lot of people on the Air Force bandwagon...however UNC is without a doubt the biggest trap of week two.

Looking a wagering patters and line moves, I think Navy might be giving UNC a run for its money.

I think the biggest trap game on the board is Army.  They win a game on the road as a dog and now are laying a small number at home to Duke.  Duke  lost to Richmond at home last week.  Now is that a trap or what???  Many of my aquaintances are on Army this week, not me.

What terrifies me about UNC is the number has stayed at four and is currently at plus money.  I do believe they are the correct side but I havent and may not be able to pull the trigger.

Navy or NC...either would work and both prolly don't cover.

wouldn't see that as a trap... Troy always plays top BCS teams tougher than expected... i think a lot of people will be willing to take the points...

UNC and Colorado are better candidates...

I was on UCONN last week while seeing most around here goin for Ohio....I typically keep an eye on UCONN games because of this...but UNC is just better...better players...better coach...and because of that, they will cover the -3.5 I have them at.
 
Does anyone see NO. TEX + 3 as a trap ?   I think OHIO goes in there and beats easily....this line seems too connected to a OH loss and N.TX over-performance

North Texas line seems odd, catching a FG at home against Ohio after winning at Ball St. as a 16 point dog

I know I'm the only one that sees Kansas -13.5 as a trap. But I think UTEP has a shot at winning this one

"TRAP GAME" -Definition- A game played by a SUPERIOR opponent taking the INFERIOR opponent lightly or caught looking ahead, hence LOSING or ALMOST losing the game on the field! A team LOSING or BACKDOORING by 30 instead of 36 IS NOT a "TRAP GAME" bro.

I think the game that sets up as a "trap" is BYU at Tulane... looks to easy laying only 17.5 against lowly Tulane. These guys just beat Oklahoma. I certainly don't have the stones to back Tulane, but this is a game I definetely want to pass on.

So can you tell me how this is a bigger trap game than the FRESNO/BOISE???

BOISE is only favored by a TD.

GT vs Miami?? This isnt a trap.  Both teams are pretty damn good, hence both in the top 25 in the nation right now.  Miami giving points at home in a conference game isnt quite the trap if you ask me.  Many experts believe Miami will win the ACC.  But im still taking GT in this game.  Miami cant defend that triple option.

Please, let me know your arguements on how this is the biggest trap of the week... I just want to know your reasoning.
