Clemson BOT has 13 members. A simple majority vote is all it takes to approve a move to the SEC. Last I heard six trustees were on board with accepting an invitation **IF** an invitation were forthcoming. That's a big *if*. I have no information about contact between the SEC and Clemson.

I could be mistaken, but I have heard that the SEC doesn't want to expand into states where they already have a presence. My thought is they will add either Missouri, Va Tech or NC State in order to get to 14 teams.

* Horns have already stated....they would not play the Aggies anymore if they leave........
Bookie-
I see you are from Texas. Who is your school? You might have mentioned it before in another thread, but I haven't been able to tell for sure in the posts I have seen of yours. Just curious since you are in the great state of Texas like I am.

the SEC says they are willing to play the 2012 season with 13 teams, but i don't see it happening. i think they will go for 14 (or 16 ) off the bat. so the question is, who is the other team? VA Tech, FSU, Clemson or someone else?
this will be a good story to follow throughout the year.

*when thinking of what schools will be added....forget what we want competitively.....think of the TV market a team brings...that will lead to greater leverage in negotiating a more lucrative deal

your right bookie, they are not looking at what we want to watch. its all about money . thinking along those lines, i could see VA Tech which it brings in the DC market. of course, i hope they don't go for virginia based on the same reasoning.

I think the other Big 12 schools...KU, Mizzou, ISU, Kstate, OK and OSU should grab BYU and one other school (maybe even A & M) and go back to being the Big 8. Let Texas be an independent.
OK in football and KU in basketball bring enough to the table to make it on their own.

SEC checking around to make sure no Little 12 team will sue.....conference will not...individual teams like a Baylor (who might stand to lose many millions later...) might....so they're just being extra careful
