I don't know what it is about BetOnline but sometimes their openers are just off...the NorthEastern one for tomorrow is a good example...
Once BetCris opens and BetOnline adjusts it's better...that might be the better of the two to use, either BetCris' opener or the adjusted line at BetOnline after BetCris opens...

Beaver is still using the BetOnline openers he is just getting the info from Maddux instead of Covers. The Maddux BetOnline openers are slightly earlier than Covers at least for Wednesday's games.

Beaver, you've been using BetOnline's opening number for 9 weeks now. I'm not sure if you should change that now...?
Actually beaver has been using what covers says is BetOnline's opener...but sometimes covers doesn't get the actual opener, however sometimes BetOnline's actual opener is way out there...I agree with stiffler on that...
If you notice maddux doesn't even list BetOnline's opening line as the opener...they list BetCris' maybe for the same reason...

You have to click on the number under BetOnline to pull up the line history in order to see the opener. You can't just go by the column that says opener

This is where a line service comes into play. Using this site, another site, this site, that site, you are going to get various #'s. They all get their feeds free and the information is delayed and will depend on when their source updates.
Anyone that is serious about this has a line service.
Bet Cris had Northeastern open up at -5.5 at 5:25PM and 48 seconds exactly 55 seconds later they moved to -6
Betonline had Northeastern open up at -8 at 2:31PM and went to -8.5 at 250PM, then dropped to -5.5 at 5:25PM and 41 secs.
So as you can see BOL put a line out there nearly 3 hours earlier and they paid for their bad line when other more mainstream high volume books came out with the line.
There's a price to pay for being one of the first books out with a line for the next days games. People will pick them apart when they come out with lines out of whack like they did on this one.
Word to the wise, get a line service that's live and not use any website that you have no idea how stale the information is. It's an investment anyone worth their salt would invest in.

Pitchblack and gamboholics excuse the phuck out of me for advising what anyone worth their salt in sports investing would tell you to do.
Do you buy stocks based on what someone tells you to do on a website? I am sure you would apply due dilligence. The same goes for sports investing. I don't call it gambling because that's what slot machines are for.
The more informed fresh information you have the better served you are to make your investment.
Now if I was selling you something, I would own it. I've suggested Sports Options simply because it's the best around. Perhaps you'd like me to tell you to go to jeez I don't know USA Today and use their lines page.
Perhaps you like generic, maybe you like Duff over Heinken who knows.
Now if you want a winners on tonight's game call my toll free on my 800 line. Operators are standing by to take your call, if my game loses you get the rest of the week free. Call me now this offer is only available for the first 100 callers at 1-800 *uck-you
Carry on.

bailey314 thanks for what you put together. I've noticed a lot of the Pinnacle opening lines you have are incorrect.
For example #744 Northeastern opened at -6.5 not -8
#750 Pittsburgh opened at -9 not -12
So you can verify for yourself, right click on the line in the Pinnacle column and choose line history, it will confirm for you or you can add a column for pinnacle openers as well. Either will show the correct information.
Keep on keepin on that's what helps us all be successful, thanks again for your contribution.

If you go to vegasinsider.com, click on odds for NCAAB and go to the offshore books page, you can get a complete line history from all the books with time stamps and it's all free. We have to decide openers to use.

jrivers...I would consider myself someone who (in your terms) is worth their salt in sports investing.
The picks in the contest are my money picks in real life...I make about 7000 picks a year and earn about 250-300 units/year...I could do it for a living but I also have a career that I enjoy and love doing...
I have never needed a line service to make my picks...there are many handicappers who do not need a line service to make their picks...the system beaver uses does not need a line service to decide it's picks. Therefore it is a nuisance when someone comes in beaver's thread and continually tries to sell something that is not needed.
Many have tried to explain this to you, but you don't want to listen...look I understand many people use them, some successfully and some not...bottom line is it's just not needed in tis circumstance.
Good Luck.

I've noticed that the same teams keep popping up as plays over and over. For example these teams are coming at us a lot:
Pitt St John's
Rhode Island CMU
Ind. St. OK St.
Drake Rice
SMU Tex Tech
These teams are a combined 62-94-2 ATS
With that kind of headwind, it's a miracle we're at 55% on the year. What is it that Vegas finds so attractive about these teams that KP does not to assign them higher lines than KP? I'm sure there are others (William & Mary comes to mind) just as there are others that Vegas scorns that KP loves (Wisconsin) What factor is Vegas valuing more than KP in these crap teams? If we can figure this out it will give us a leg up in all of the games not just the system plays. The more eyes looking at this the better.

Holy shit...can we just decide on a place to get the openers from? Stiff what is your issue with maddux? I only switched from covers line moves because the included books were not consistent and sometimes the opening line changed a few times throughout the day. I really don't care where we get the line from but maddux seems like the easiest one to me...just look at all of the books and see which one opened first, then get all of the opening lines from that book.
Anybody have a better suggestion than maddux? I don't like vegasinsider, its too much of a hassle to find the openers on that site(unless i'm doing it wrong)

As per earlier post I have access to Sports Options so I can pull up and post any openers you want.In the spreadsheet in my earlier post I included Betonline opener(since that seemed to be the one most often) also included Pinny since they have rep for sharpest lines, also included public % which I believe comes from all the books on Sports options.
