Some fool is trying to troll the forum saying everybody is a total idiot unless they bet heavy on multiple different "futures" events bets.
That belief is obviously BS.
There is one very sound reason why a bettor should tread very carefully regards to "futures" and that is the the very real chance of serious injury to a key player (or suspension or opt-out) that would cause that bet to lose.
I've bet futures before only to watch them almost all lose because of injuries that happen after my bets, or in the case of college football when players decide to walk out on the teams and prepare for NFL draft. The very real chance of injuries, suspensions, or player opt-outs makes futures bets a crap shoot. You may get lucky and nothing bad happens along the way after your bet. Or you may not. We bet on a game the night before, the chance of losing a key player from the time I make that bet until the time of gamestart is incredibly small. But for a futures bet many months in advance, obviously those chances increase by significant margins. So far I have been unable to predict bad luck.
