Early $$$$ of the day
1st half DAYTON -4 (-123) over Rhode Island
1st half DAYTON -4 (-123) over Rhode Island
Rhode Island has actually made me some decent muhla this year when they play on the road. They're horrible!! They have ONE conference win on the road and that was at last place LaSalle! RI's M.O. is they play a slow game and struggle to score, averaging under 70ppg. Dayton on the other hand is playing at home where they defend their court well! 13-2 on the season. What I really like is they LOST their last home game against St Bonnie's. I did not look it up but I bet it's been awhile since they dropped two conference home games in a row!
This is a rematch of a game played two weeks ago in Rhode Island. Dayton pulled off a hard fought 68-66 win. In this game Rhode Island shot the THREE BALL at 48% to hang in the game, 12% above their average. Looking at half time splits for RI they have held the lead ONE TIME at the half in Confernce play on the road. They just don't travel well!!
What I really love about this game (although I feel for these kids when injuries hit) is RI lost junior forward Hassan Martin for the year last game with a knee injury. RI already struggles to score and he was 3rd on the team in scoring at 12ppg and 2nd in rebounding at 6rpg. This injury will really leave RI under sized in this matchup. RI is already in the bottom 3rd in rebounds per game in the A-10. RI has nobody on their bench who can make up this difference. They will be playing thin with a 7 man rotation.
Where the rubber meets the road (IMO) is Martin played a huge role in keeping them in the first game vs Dayton as he went for 15 points and 14 boards. I just don't think RI can replace these numbers two weeks later. Also when he got hurt last game at Davidson (who let opponents score 78 ppg) RI managed a meager 54!!
My $$$$ is Dayton -4 (-123) 1st half (because I played it)
With that said the line has gone up from 7.5 to 8.5 and i will also add Dayton to cover the # for the game BOL TODAY GENTS

Really liking Ohio U at home vs Buffalo. OU has been better on both Offense and Defense in the last 5 games! MAC is a crazy place and any bet is a risk!
Hitting Savage Hall to see Toledo host Central Michigan. Think the Rockets take this one on the Home Court. No idea if they will cover, however!!

I'll deviate from the hoops for my last $$$$ play of the week.
Rotherham are six points below the drop line in the Championship. They have to make hay while the sun is still shining - which means coming out aggressively against Brentford on Saturday morning.
These are already two of the three highest scoring teams in the league so they are offensive (or lack of defense) by nature. Add in the desperation that Rotherham faces and I see this being a very open game from the outset.

These teams should be picking the ball out of the net at least 3 times.

Poor Southern Utah has just been getting rocked in the 1st half on the road in Big Sky play.

$$$$ Kansas -13.5
Right now Kansas is clicking on all cylinder. They have dominated this conference and looking for their 12th straight conference title today. Arguably they are the best team in the country and will be slated at that 1 line come Selection Sunday. They dominate at home and have been cover machines. 11-4-1 ATS at Allen Fieldhouse. I typically take a team laying 10 plus if their total is set above 140 which it is today.
The first game was a 10 point win an that was do to their poor shooting in the first half (29%)and also beginning of conference play. Ellis and Mason both had double doubles in that game and see the same. Texas Tech may throw out the zone, but today Kansas will attack it as compared to the earlier game. I also see Seldon and Graham putting up some strong numbers to complete a 20 pint plus win.

Playing these early games Butler -2, GW +1, Army -2. The local has IPFW at -3 (they get a lot of action so he added a point)
Early $$$$ play
Crappy game, with some crappier teams, but going against BC. Georgia Tech need this, it can get them closer to playing in at least one of the tourneys and it has been a few years for them. BC sits at the bottom of the ACC and has a horrid ATS record in conference games at 4-10. The season is over and the players know this. The big boys up front will have their way against BC. BC has the worst offense in conference play. Tech with three straights wins against FSU, ND and Clemson, wins by DD's

Thanks East - sorry you just missed it. Some of those earlier soccer starts can be tough to get to before kickoff.
I try to stick to hoops because this is a basketball thread but I know soccer more than basketball, so I figured it was worth it to insert that play.
