Xavier will be my $$$ pick of the day. It is fighting for first place with a record of 9-2 in the Big East Conference with a record of 9-2 in the conference. It also has won 9-1 away. They allow 68 points per game with a very good defense.
Another colleague has picked Xavier in this thread and has said everything that needs to be also said about Xavier. Did not want to copy or mention the same things. So I will keep it short and sweet.

Guys. Please read the first post of the thread that opens the thread every day. Read the entire post. If you don't want your play tracked, then no worries. But if you do, please do what the first post of the day asks. With a lot of insight. One sentence saying "they will be really fired up for this one" is not original insight about the game.
Again, if you don't want your play tracked, then that is fine and thanks for posting your play here. If you DO want your "$$$$" tracked, then please write out a paragraph about the game with some breakdown and insight that you have that the rest of us do not. Explain your expertise and share it with us.

arlington dominated the series against the bobcats 8 out of 9 times. Texas state have lost 4 straight so they are cold as ice right now.
Arlington is a small school but they can ball. They are the 26th ranked in the nation with offense that can put up 81 points per game. They are the nation's 2nd best rebounding team. They also averages about 9 deep ball from downtown per game.

I just want to pint out that as we continue on a little, I am going to get slightly more strict about accepting writeups for your $$$$. I am lenient at the start as you guys figure out what we are looking for. There are several very good writeups today. Please look at them and try to use them as guides for your own writeup if you want your $$$$ tracked.
If you are just posting a play, thank you. All plays are encouraged, but only solid, insightful, and relevant writeups are accepted for a $$$$ to be tracked. If you are not sure if yours is being tracked, please either "Friend" me and ask via PM, or just ask on the thread and I will tell you if your $$$$ was put on the spreadsheet or not.

My $$$$ pick is Monmouth -10 over Marist (2-0 record so far)
The last time these two played at Monmouth, they beat Marist by 11, but failed to cover the -18 spread. This time even though on the road, I think they cover. Monmouth is 11-5 ATS on the road playing a horrible Marist team who is 2-8 SU and 2-5 ATS at home. I love them mainly because I think they need style points the rest of the season (which they should cruise through) They have beat ND, USC, UCLA and Georgetown, but lost to some lightweights. They should also win the MAAC tourney and get that auto bid, BUT can they get an at-large bid if they stumble in the MAAC tourney?? Maybe, so winning and winning big counts for these guys IMO.

Play of the Day $$$$
Virginia Tech +15.5 vs Virginia
This spread does not make sense to me. Virginia Tech is absolutely killing it ATS, 7-1 in their last 8 games. On the other hand we have Virginia, who is a great team this year, but struggles to cover in most of their games. They are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 HOME games. There is no doubt that Virginia is a great team but why don't they win by large margins? The answer is their defense. They play some of the best defense in country holding teams to on average 60 points. They love to slow the game down on both ends of the floor and manage their possessions; this has been their style of play all season. Low scoring games are always relatively close games So to give 15.5 points against a team than upset them earlier this year, expect them to keep it somewhat close. Definitely inside 15 points. Bet VT
