Don't know...im liking St. Johns
They played solid on the road last year, lost by 9 to duke, 7 to Gtown
This year team they bring back all 5 starters plus added depth, they went 17-16 last year they are definitly improved. More athletic, st marys a bunch of white guys poppin 3's. Unless st marys pulls some ridic shit like shooting 60% from 3' i see ST johns keeping it within 4 prob winning

I like St Mary's -4 easy, ST Johns will need more than Lavin to win

**keeping it that close with duke and other quality teams with last year's squad, this st marys team shouldn't be a problem...
i think if the home court was that HUGE of an advantage this line would b -6 or -7

If this memphis game manages to go under 143 with its furious pace...gonna have to take under in the next game to. I like your reason though. Just remember that this is a televised first game and alot of nerves going through these kids. Not professionals that have been doing it for years

"The hiring of Lavin’s acclaimed mentor comes a day after St. Johns landed one of their most highly touted recruits in years, shooting guard D’Angelo Harrison, out of Dulles High School in Sugar Land, Texas.
Harrison is ranked as a four-star recruit, by both Rivals and Scout, and looks like he has the ability to make an immediate impact.
This is a team that is returning all five starters from a group that went 17-16 last season. They also made an NIT appearance and displayed the types of effort you would expect from a true riser in the Big East. "
ST Marrys only returning 3 starters:
Saint Mary's Gaels
Returning starters: Mickey McConnell, Matthew Dellavedova, Clint Steindl
Key additions: Rob Jones (TR), Kenton Walker (TR), Stephen Holt (91)
X-Factor: Clint Steindl, F

sharp, i wouldn't go that far, its opening night 2 am for both squads, i think they are equally pumped, st marys slightly more...
bao- no real opinion on the o/u
the more research i do the more i like ST johns ....they dont have a true big man and basically play 5 guards, since thats the case i think they match up against ST marys very well and can will take away the three ball
