Fubah's first game note:
11:00 ET Yale @Cornell is at Cornell's home basketball court. True home game!
They beat YALE on that same court 2 weeks ago. In case you're wondering, it is about a 4.5 hour drive from Yale's home in New Haven, CT. Cornell is 8 - 6 on the IVY League and #4 seed. I expect the stands to be packed in Cornell red and they put up a good fight against the top seed.

In a related matter,
the other game scheduled for 11:00 am ET is the America East Conference title game between #2 seed Vermont and #1 seed UMBC. It is being held at the same homecourt building of the Retrievers. Another true home game!
There's only 2 good teams in the AM East, and the #1 seed has HCA laying just 3.5 pts.
UMBC stands 16 - 2 in conference versus a powerful Vermont squad at 14 - 4.
They split their matchups, winning at each home venue.
They have completed 2 rounds and the higher seeds in the AM East get homecourt.
Catamounts went 5 - 3 on the road this season in conf, but haven't played a road game since Feb 21, winning all 4 games since plus that night. But all weakass opponents, as the AM East is a weak conf. Only one got out of hand and that was the 13 pt loss at UMBC. They didn't have any close calls though. The closest margin in a win was by 6 pts and that was in their last ROAD game 3 weeks ago.
UMBC Retrievers meanwhile, have only lost 2 conference games: one was back in January in overtime, and the other was to today's opponent Vermont, in late January.....but both those 2 losses were ON THE ROAD. At HOME they are (so far) unblemished at 10 - 0. since of course all the other teams are weakass except Vermont. UMBC had a close call win at home in early January and a 4pt home win Feb 21, but otherwise all were fairly easy wins vs all the weakass teams in that conf.
IMPORTANT!
In their split matchups, the win for Catamounts at home in Vermont was virtually dead even play EXCEPT FOR two stats: they hit 5 more from the arc and won by 9 pts. Which was notable because Vermont was missing one of their starting guards, the #3 top scorer!!
Now in their second match, all hands on deck for each team, this time @UMBC, it was another virtual dead even match EXCEPT FOR one very significant stat: free throws! The refs gave Vermont 10 from the charity stripe and they hit 8. But UMBC got some "home cookin'" that time because the refs gave them 25 and they hit 20....that's 12 more in a game they won by 13. There could be a "revenge" angle here for Vermont. The ref crew were: Farrell, Smith and Corliss.
IMV, they are evenly matched and the line is exactly where it should be andso this is a coin-flipper on the spread but maybe a razor thin edge to UMBC for a su win.
No injuries to report

Florida is in a true road game and trailing by 13 at HT....poor from the arc, although they lead in rebounding. This is shaping up to be a Florida comeback but which may fall short... we shall see...

Well this looks already like a lost bet as the refs just gave Alex Condon his 4th foul with still over 13 mins left......he only had 2 fouls a few mins ago...GAME CHANGER gift for the hometown Commodores
which likely ends any real hope for Gator comeback to even get close...
