Two teams expected to again battle tooth and nail in the ultra-competitive West clash in Week 1, when the Winnipeg Blue Bombers visit the Calgary Stampeders.

The Stamps edged Winnipeg for the West's third seed, sending the Bombers to the crossover. Both teams' respective seasons ended that week.

My Blue Bombers vs. Stampeders predictions and free CFL picks have Calgary maintaining its recent dominance over the visiting team.

Blue Bombers vs Stampeders prediction

My Blue Bombers vs Stampeders pick: Stampeders +1.5 (-115)

So long as Vernon Adams Jr is healthy, go with the home team. Adams was a Winnipeg Blue Bombers killer in 2025, throwing for 733 yards, seven TDs, and just one INT, while compiling a 3-0 record.

Compare that to QB Zach Collaros, who threw for 341 yards, with one TD toss against four interceptions -- two of which were returned for TDs. And that was in only two starts.

The Calgary Stampeders lit up the CFL's third-ranked scoring D, outscoring them 106-63 in 2025, and yet they're a 1.5-point home dog?

Give me the Stamps on the spread up to a 3-point favorite.

Blue Bombers vs Stampeders same-game parlay (SGP)

Winnipeg wasn't going to stop Calgary's offense, but their offseason additions can help them outscore their problems.

That includes stud receiver Tim White, some O-line help in Jarrell Broxton, and Tommy Condell as the new OC, to revive an offense that ranked second-last in passing and fifth in scoring.

These offensive upgrades should continue the recent trend of blasting the Over, which was set at 51.5 points in all three games in 2025. The only change might be Winnipeg helping carry that total, instead of being dragged past it.

It's Week 1, so anything can happen, but 47.5 is an awfully generous line for these two teams after what we saw last year.
