Saturday night, the Toronto Argonauts enter their sixth straight road game to begin the 2026 CFL season as 4.5-point favorites against their arch-rivals, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, at Tim Hortons Field.
Wildfire smoke continues to blanket the region and cause air-quality concerns, while the combination of smoke and potential strong thunderstorms could lead to delays or worse.
My latest Argonauts vs. Tiger-Cats predictions will account for those variables while highlighting my best CFL picks for Saturday, July 18.
Who will win Argonauts vs Tiger-Cats: Tiger-Cats +4.5 (-105)
The week opened with Hamilton installed as a clear 5.5-point home underdog following an abysmal offensive performance against Saskatchewan in Week 6.
It seems oddsmakers assumed quarterback Jake Dolegala would get another start for the Tiger-Cats and that they would continue to struggle offensively, even against a road-weary Toronto squad. If that were the case, I would be writing about taking the Argos as 5.5-point road favorites.
However, Tre Ford will start for Hamilton this week, and the line has been moving in the Tiger-Cats' direction as the public believes he can provide the offensive spark Dolegala could not.
Injuries along Toronto's defensive front, including Jeremiah Ojo and Cameron Judge, may also give Ford more room to operate.
Hamilton is 5-1 straight up and against the spread in its last six games against Toronto. I'm glad to get the Tiger-Cats at +4.5 and would also be interested in sprinkling their moneyline.

Argonauts vs Tiger-Cats total prediction: Over 55.5 (-108)
One week after Hamilton quarterback Jake Dolegala produced just 122 passing yards on 30 attempts through 57 minutes, the Tiger-Cats will play the eternal optimists and turn to Tre Ford to lead the offense against Toronto.
Ford has four tumultuous seasons of experience in Edmonton and will now bring his own brand of backyard-football chaos to Hamilton in the hope of saving the Tiger-Cats' season with Bo Levi Mitchell sidelined indefinitely.
Oddly enough, Ford's career average of 8.6 yards per attempt is identical to Mitchell's career mark. However, his inconsistency when reading defenses, working through progressions, and playing within a system has prevented him from establishing himself as a reliable CFL starter.
On the other side of the ball, Chad Kelly leads the league's top passing attack with 1,903 yards through the air and a wild 10.1 yards per attempt.
These two offenses project for a combined 644 passing yards and 832.8 total yards in this matchup, which screams Over. The only potential cap on the scoring would be environmental factors such as smoke, thunderstorms, and strong winds hampering production.
I'm happy to bet the Over at 55.5 and would play it up to 58.5 if the smoke clears and the storm front moves out of the area.
Argonauts vs Tiger-Cats same-game parlay
The spread has continued to creep closer throughout the week, suggesting a tightly contested matchup. That close-game projection pairs well with a high-scoring angle, especially since each of the last five meetings between these teams has finished Over the total.
This same-game parlay is built around Hamilton keeping the score close and the pace remaining high in a rivalry that has consistently produced plenty of points.
