The Sky are positioned well to cover the 6.5-point spread against the Sun tonight, with Kamilla Cardosa primed for another double-double.

The Chicago Sky will look to break their five-game losing streak as they host the basement-dwelling Connecticut Sun on Friday night.

Connecticut has been by far the WNBA’s weakest team this season, and I’m taking Chicago -6.5 to cover at home in my Sun vs Sky predictions.

Sun vs Sky prediction

Sun vs Sky best bet: Sky -6.5 (-120)

The Connecticut Sun have been by far the worst team in the league this season, posting a -12.9 point differential and a -16 net rating. They have the lowest effective field goal rate in the WNBA (45.0%) and are dead last at the free-throw line (67.5%).

Even if they’re struggling lately, the Chicago Sky have a few redeeming qualities.

They average only 12.8 turnovers per game and play tough inside, blocking 5.9 shots per night while averaging 39.3 points in the paint. I like the Sky to cover at home, giving up to 8.5 points.

Covers COVERS INTEL: The Sun are allowing 1.18 points per scoring attempt this season while scoring 0.98 points per attempt themselves, both of which rank dead last in the WNBA.

Sun vs Sky same-game parlay

Both teams like to keep the game moving, with the Sky in particular ranking second in pace.

Connecticut has played to a total of 165+ points in three of its last four games, and with its defensive deficiencies combined with the Sky pushing the pace, I like the Over at a relatively low total here.

With Chicago likely to dominate inside, I’m also backing Sky center Kamilla Cardoso to pick up a double-double tonight. Cardoso is averaging a double-double this season (12.8 points, 10.0 rebounds) and has already picked up five in her first nine games. If Chicago has as much success tonight as I expect, Cardoso should hit that target again.

Since joining Covers in 2022, Ed has offered his sports betting analysis primarily on MLB, NFL, college football, and college basketball games, but is willing to take on any sport.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
