The last-place Connecticut Sun have lost eight straight, and the road doesn’t get any easier tonight as they travel to Minneapolis to face the first-place Minnesota Lynx.
My Sun vs Lynx predictions and WNBA picks for Sunday, June 29 expect the Lynx to dominate at home in a matchup of polar opposites.
Sun vs Lynx predictions
My Sun vs Lynx best bet: Lynx -20.5 (-110 at bet365)
The 2025 season has gone in completely different directions for the Connecticut Sun and Minnesota Lynx.
The rebuilding Sun tore down its roster in the offseason, and the team is just 2-14 on the year. Minnesota, meanwhile, is on a revenge tour after losing the WNBA Finals in a heartbreaking five-game series.
One of Connecticut’s lone bright spots this season has been Marina Mabrey, who is averaging career highs in a number of categories. Mabrey went for 22/8/6 when she and the Sun faced the Lynx earlier in the season, and Minnesota came away with a six-point win at home.
Mabrey has missed the last three games with a knee injury, and she’s out again tonight. The Sun have lost their last three on the road by an average of 22 points without her.
Minnesota’s superstar Napheesa Collier returned from a two-game absence and dropped 26 points last time out. The Lynx are back home for the first time in eight days, and Collier & Co. are positioned perfectly to dominate this matchup.
The Lynx sport the W’s best net rating at 11.7, while the Sun rank last in that category at -21.2. Minnesota has been even better at home, rocking a 16.6 net rating at Target Center. Connecticut has been outscored by 28.5 points per game on the road, easily the worst mark in the league.
Minnesota’s defense is tops in the W at 94.7, and it’s been even more stifling at home with a 90.1 mark. Connecticut’s offensive rating (90.9) is easily the worst in the league, and the Sun own the worst defensive rating at a whopping 112.1.
These two teams couldn’t be farther apart in offensive firepower, defensive prowess, and overall roster talent. Expect Minnesota to control this game from the tip and easily win at home.
Sun vs Lynx same-game parlay (SGP)
Collier leads the W in points per game at 24.5, and she’s recorded 24 or more points in eight of 11 contests this season in which she played at least 20 minutes. Of the three in which she scored under 24, two came at home.
Collier has been a more productive scorer on the road than at home this season, averaging 4.4 more points away from Target Center. In a game that should be over early, I’m not expecting a ton of points from Collier as she’ll likely get some rest late.
Collier might not hit the Over on her scoring line, but she should have no problem hitting it with rebounds.
She’s averaging 8.4 rebounds per game on the season and has grabbed nine or more six times. Connecticut has allowed the most rebounds in the W this season at 38 per clip, but over the last three games, they’ve surrendered an eye-popping 43.3.
