Sun vs Fever Predictions, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s WNBA Game

Among the Sun's flaws this season is their rebounding game, and our WNBA betting picks believe Natasha Howard of the Fever has a chance to pad her stats on the glass tonight.

The Indiana Fever venture into their second straight game without Caitlin Clark when they host the Connecticut Sun on Friday night.

With Clark sidelined due to injury, Indiana came up short as road favorites at Washington on Wednesday. If the Fever want to avoid another stumble, my Sun vs. Fever predictions believe they need an all-around effort from this revamped roster, including a complete game from veteran forward Natasha Howard.

Here are my best WNBA picks for May 30.

Will Caitlin Clark play tonight?

Caitlin Clark will not play against the Connecticut Sun on Friday night as she continues to recover from a quadriceps injury.

The Indiana Fever bumped Sydney Colson to the starting lineup in her place against Washington on Wednesday. Indiana does have a lighter schedule coming up (Connecticut at home, Washington at home, then at Chicago) so Clark’s absence should be manageable for Indiana.

Sun vs Fever predictions

My Sun vs Fever best bet: Natasha Howard Over 6.5 rebounds (-130 at bet365)

Natasha Howard has had a tough time staying on the floor the past two games, playing just 19 and 17 minutes, respectively, due to foul trouble and turnovers.

Against Washington on Wednesday, the veteran forward posted 10 points and five rebounds in the first half. But with five turnovers, head coach Stephanie White decided to limit her to only five minutes in the second half, and she managed only one point and one rebound in the final 20 minutes – coming up just shy of her rebounding total of 6.5 boards.

Howard should be chomping at the bit to get back out there against the Sun, and her rebound total is still parked at 6.5 O/U despite a clear advantage on the glass.

Connecticut is the worst team in the WNBA and boasts the lowest rebound rate in the entire league (46.8%). On top of that, the Sun could be missing active bodies on the boards with Marina Mabrey (5.4 rpg) and Olivia Nelson-Ododa (6.2 rpg) listed as game-time decisions.

Before her six-rebound result against Washington, Howard had snatched seven, eight, and nine boards in the three games prior. Her game models for Friday range from six to 7.5 rebounds but the ceiling is much higher considering the matchup and the potential missing pieces for Connecticut.

So help me God if coach White limits her minutes again.

Sun vs Fever same-game parlay (SGP)

Natasha Howard 7+ rebounds

Natasha Howard 10+ points

Kelsey Mitchell 20+ points

Howard’s usage is high but her minutes have taken a hit the past two games. Still, she should clean the glass against a weak Sun frontcourt.

Howard can also create her own offense and put up points in a hurry. Projections sit above double digits Friday.

Kelsey Mitchell takes over as the top gun for the Fever with Clark out. She’s projected for 20-plus with Indiana coming back home after a bad day in D.C.
