The Washington Mystics are riding a rollercoaster of a season and haven't found consistency. But one team you can count on them handling in most cases is the Chicago Sky, who come to D.C. hobbling with injuries to a couple of their key players.

My Sky vs. Mystics predictions see Brittney Sykes, who had a forgettable performance on Sunday against the Mercury, benefiting most of all.

Let's dig deeper into why I'm targeting her to bring it with my WNBA picks for Tuesday, July 29.

My Sky vs Mystics best bet: Brittney Sykes to Score 20+ points (+385 at FanDuel)

The Washington Mystics are one of those teams the Chicago Sky hate facing simply because they've had the upper hand in nine out of the last 10 times they've faced one another.

The home team needs a bounce-back win after coming off a deflating 16-point loss to the Phoenix Mercury, and no other player can make that game a ghost of nightmares past than Brittney Sykes.

The Mystics leading scorer did the complete opposite against Phoenix, with an abysmal ZERO points on the night, the first zilch performance in her WNBA career. Something I'm sure she's eager to make everyone forget.

Well, it's no better time to do that than tonight against the ailing Sky, who may be without Angel Reese and leading scorer Ariel Atkins. Reese — who leads the WNBA with 12.5 rebounds per game — is listed as probable after missing the last two games with a back injury, while Atkins has missed the last four with a leg issue.

After Sunday's concerning showing, Sykes isn't noted to have any injury herself, and if that's indeed the case, then I'm taking her to lead the Mystics to another victory over the Sky.

This will be the third contest between these teams this season, with the Mystics going 2-0 thus far. Sykes scored 32 and 11 points, respectively, in those matchups, and she's been known to show up against Chicago, which is why I'm taking her points prop to comfortably go Over 20 points tonight.

Sky vs Mystics same-game parlay (SGP)

Shakira Austin 15+ points

Brittney Sykes 20+ points

Mystics moneyline

The Mystics have the one-two punch of Sykes and Shakira Austin, who have taken turns in guiding Washington's offense. When Sykes doesn't come through, Austin will, and vice versa.

Tonight will be different, as I'm betting on them to each have a successful night. The Sky are their "sweet spot" team, and Chicago being shorthanded puts the icing on top of the sugary cake for Sykes and Austin.

Austin has hit the Over on this points prop in three out of the last five games, and this will be another contest for her to do so as the Mystics walk away with the win.
