Wednesday’s WNBA slate features a pair of Game 2s, and I’m highlighting the stars when the Phoenix Mercury face the New York Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx take on the Golden State Valkyries.
My favorite WNBA player props and WNBA picks for September 17 predict big performances from Sabrina Ionescu, Napheesa Collier, and newly-crowned Most Improved Player Veronica Burton.
WNBA player prop bets for September 17
Sabrina Ionescu Over 29.5 PRA (-106)
Veronica Burton Over 24.5 PRA (-110)
Napheesa Collier Over 20.5 points (-122)
Sabrina Ionescu Over 29.5 pts/reb/ast
For the second straight season, Sabrina Ionescu averaged exactly 28.8 PRA, and she finished with 29 in Game 1 against the Phoenix Mercury. It took her big performance and a strong showing from Breanna Stewart to drive the New York Liberty’s OT victory, and with
Stewart banged up, Ionescu may have to pick up the slack with a Herculean performance.
After missing time to end the regular season, including four straight absences, Ionescu returned to play in the final two games, but she logged less than 30 minutes in each contest. The rest did her well, as she logged 43 minutes in Game 1.
With a trip to the semifinals on the line in front of the home crowd, and with additional scoring and playmaking opportunities available, I expect Ionescu to comfortably clear this line.

Veronica Burton Over 24.5 pts/reb/ast
Veronica Burton’s 11.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and six assists in 2025 earned her Most Improved Player honors, and she’ll look to deliver another strong performance on Wednesday to help the Golden State Valkyries stave off elimination.
Burton averaged 22.3 PRA during the regular season, but over her last 10, she averaged 26.4 and hit the Over on this line eight times. Despite losing by 25 points, Burton posted 26 PRA in Game 1. In five matchups with the Lynx this season, she averaged 22.4 PRA and hit the Over three times, including both matchups at Ballhalla.

Napheesa Collier Over 20.5 points
Napheesa Collier finished with 20 points in Game 1, and she scored at least that many points in four of five matchups with Golden State this season. In those five appearances, she averaged 21 points, making this a very reasonable points line for Wednesday’s closeout matchup on the road.
Collier averaged a career-best 22.9 points per game in 2025, and she finished with 21 or more points in 20 of 33 regular-season appearances. The Minnesota Lynx are on a revenge tour after losing last season’s Finals in a heartbreaking Game 5, and I expect Collier to deliver a knockout punch in Game 2 to send her team to the semis.
