Another Caitlin Clark injury may have taken some of the shine off today’s five-game WNBA slate, but you don’t have to look far for heavyweight matchups.

The Minnesota Lynx try to move to 12-0 at Target Center this year as they face the Phoenix Mercury, while the Seattle Storm host the fearless Golden State Valkyries. My WNBA player props pull from both those showdowns.

With the league preparing to shift its focus to All-Star Weekend, take a closer look at the July 16 action with my free WNBA picks.

WNBA player prop bets for July 16

  • Lynx Collier Over 20.5 points (-122)
  • Valkyries Burton Over 19.5 points, assists, & rebounds (-118)
  • Liberty Fiebich Over 4.5 rebounds (+122)

Today's best WNBA player props bets

Napheesa Collier Over 20.5 points (-122 at FanDuel)

Napheesa Collier has a busy weekend ahead as an All-Star captain, but it’s been all business over the past week for the Minnesota Lynx star. She poured in 29 points against the Chicago Sky on Monday, including 11-for-11 from the free-throw line, and this O/U line feels too low for such a reliable bucket-getter.

I like the Over this afternoon, even against a solid Phoenix Mercury frontcourt, and Collier has gone past this number in five of her last seven outings. Some sportsbooks had the line as high as 22.5 before dropping it overnight.

Collier has put up solid stats in her two outings against Phoenix this year, without fully taking over offensively, but she’ll need to raise that level here to hold off a Mercury team that’s won three in a row and eight of its last 10 contests.

Look for an aggressive start from Collier, who’s knocking down her shots at a 52% clip while logging a career-high 16.8 FGA per game. With that kind of volume, I see her nailing this Over.

Veronica Burton Over 19.5 points, rebounds, & assists (-118 at FanDuel)

The Golden State Valkyries aren’t backing down from anyone in their debut WNBA season, and Veronica Burton has been a big factor in establishing their Year 1 identity.

I’ve been targeting Burton props lately, with the Golden State guard making an impression all over the box score, so sign me up for another combo Over today against the Seattle Storm.

Burton put up a 17-2-6 line in Monday’s gut-wrenching loss to the Phoenix Mercury, and she’s cashed the Over on this 19.5 number in four straight games. In fact, she’s finished with a 24+ tally in three of those outings.

Going a little further back, Burton had 15 points, five rebounds and five assists in just 25 minutes in the Valkyries’ last meeting with the Storm, and she figures to be an even bigger part of the offense this afternoon.

It’s hard to know what to expect from this inconsistent Seattle Storm roster, but the stage is set for Burton to continue her breakout year.

Leonie Fiebich Over 4.5 rebounds (+122 at FanDuel)

We may not get a shooting showdown between Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu tonight – or at All-Star Weekend – so I’m focusing on the New York Liberty supporting cast instead here.

Leonie Fiebich caught the eye with 21 points, including four 3-pointers, in Sunday’s clutch victory over the Atlanta Dream, but it’s her work on the glass that could be just as critical tonight against the Indiana Fever.

Fiebich has grabbed 18 rebounds across her last three games, and I’m taking a swing with these plus odds for Over 4.5 boards, with the Liberty still trying to fill the frontcourt void left by Jonquel Jones’ injury.

New York is leaning more and more on its second-year forward. Fiebich has been on the court for 32+ minutes in each of her last four contests, and her length could be an X-factor as the Liberty battle to keep Aliyah Boston and Natasha Howard away from the offensive glass.
