Every team in the WNBA has played at least one game now, and that means there are a couple of stars looking to follow up on big opening performances that we can target for WNBA player props tonight.

From the league’s best player in A’ja Wilson to its brightest young star in Caitlin Clark, I’m expecting big performances out of the biggest names in the WNBA on Tuesday.

Let’s take a look at three prop bets I love tonight in my free WNBA picks for May 20.

WNBA player prop bets for May 20

  • Suns Wilson o26.5 pts (-110)
  • Suns Clark o37.5 pts + rebs + asts (-114)
  • Suns Gray o2.5 3s (+130)

Today's best WNBA player props bets

A’ja Wilson Over 26.5 points (-110 at DraftKings)

A’ja Wilson has been the best player in the WNBA the last five seasons, winning three MVP awards in that span. She’s now become the best scorer in the league as well, leading the league with 26.9 ppg last season.

On Saturday, Wilson showed that she might be headed for even bigger things in 2025, as she put up an impressive 31 points on 11-for-22 shooting against the defending champion New York Liberty.

Considering that performance came against one of the few teams that had largely kept Wilson in check in recent years, it could well be a sign that she plans to break the single-season record for points per game she set last year.

Tonight, Wilson gets a chance to add to her fast start against a Connecticut Sun team that allowed 46 points in the paint against the Washington Mystics on Sunday. Wilson has become a nearly unstoppable force, and as good as Tina Charles is, I don’t expect her to slow down the league’s top scorer.

Caitlin Clark Over 37.5 points + rebounds + assists (-114 at FanDuel)

If Caitlin Clark wanted to reach new heights in her sophomore season, she couldn’t have gotten off to much of a better start than she did on Saturday, when she went for a 20-point triple-double against the Chicago Sky.

We can’t expect triple-doubles every night from Clark, but her production improved throughout the 2024 season, and at worst, we should expect the more confident version of the former Iowa star all year long as she powers the Indiana Fever offense.

Still, 37.5 is a big combined total, with Clark only ending last season with an average of 33.3 combined points, rebounds, and assists. But the Dream showed absolutely no ability to play defense in a 94-90 loss to the Washington Mystics in their season opener.

Coming off her incredibly productive opener and facing off against an opponent that is primed to play high-scoring games, I’m expecting big numbers out of Clark tonight.

Allisha Gray Over 2.5 made threes (+130 at Caesars)

The Atlanta Dream struggled mightily on offense in 2024, averaging a league-low 77.0 ppg. But Atlanta looked like it was trying to push the pace a bit on Friday, which led to the Dream putting up 90 points, a number that would have been one of their highest totals last season.

So where did those extra points come from? For one, Atlanta ramped up its 3-point volume, jacking up 36 shots from beyond the arc in its season opener. That’s a massive change for a team that averaged just 19.4 attempts from three last year.

Allisha Gray was one of the leaders of that barrage, hitting six of her 10 attempts from deep in Friday’s opener. It’s not the worst idea for the Dream to allow Gray to let it fly, as she’s hit a solid 35.0% from beyond the arc for her career, albeit never with the kind of volume we saw against the Mystics.

Atlanta looked like a team that is planning to move to a triple-heavy offense (who isn’t, these days?), and even if they moderate that strategy going forward, they can't afford to in this spot.

Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
