I’m continuing to back Chennedy Carter to score in her new role with the Las Vegas Aces, and also have bets in on superstars Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Plum.

Read on below to get my full breakdown of these props as I share my free WNBA picks for Sunday, May 17.

Prop #1: Chennedy Carter Over 13.5 points (-115)

Everyone knew that Chennedy Carter would provide added offense for the Las Vegas Aces, but few could have predicted she’d be this productive off the bench.

The Aces are using her heavily for a non-starter, as she’s averaging 21.5 minutes per game, but what’s most impressive is the 19.3 ppg she’s been scoring in that time on the court.

Las Vegas is letting Carter cook when she’s on the court. Her usage rate is extremely high at 31.5%, and she ranks sixth in the league in terms of percentage of shots taken at 33.6%.

Carter has scored at least 18 points in each of her last three games, and there’s no sign of her usage dipping anytime soon. Until I see a massive change in her scoring props, I’ll be taking the Over on Carter a lot moving forward.

Prop #2: Caitlin Clark Over 2.5 made threes (-130)

Caitlin Clark got off to a slow start from three-point range, shooting just 3-for-16 in her first two games combined. But she broke out on Friday in an overtime loss to the Washington Mystics, going 7-for-17 from deep on her way to scoring 32 points for the Indiana Fever.

Clark has averaged hitting 2.9 threes per game for her young WNBA career, during which she has shot 32.7% from beyond the arc. The Seattle Storm are not only allowing opponents to shoot 38.2% from deep early in the season, but they’re also allowing 29.7 threes per game, second most in the WNBA.

With the Fever at 1-2 and looking for a win against a young Storm squad that’s also off to a slow start, I expect Indiana to lean on Clark and her three-point shooting tonight.

Prop #3: Kelsey Plum Over 30.5 points + rebounds + assists (+100)

Four-time All-Star Kelsey Plum is of to another fast start in 2026, averaging 26.3 points, 5.0 assists, and 1.7 rebounds per game for the Los Angeles Sparks. Plum has put up at least 25 points in each of her first three games this year, including in Friday’s win over the Toronto Tempo – Los Angeles’ first victory of the season.

Plum was also able to dish out nine assists on Friday, as the Sparks put up a season high 99 points. Los Angeles was able to expose what had looked like a solid Toronto defense in its first two games, with the Sparks shooting 64% from the field. Los Angeles ranks fourth in the WNBA in true shooting percentage (58.0%) to start his season after ranking third in that metric last year.

That efficiency allows Plum to hit her PRA totals both by scoring and dishing the ball to her teammates. She’s put up 30+ PRA in each of the first three games this year and is a great bet to get Over her total again tonight.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
