The Washington Mystics pay a visit to Sin City, but it's A'ja Wilson that will be the mystical force for the Las Vegas Aces to lay down the law at home.

The WNBA tips off the weekend right with four games on the Friday slate.

That means an almost endless list of ways to wager on the “W.”

I dive into the odds around player performances, giving my best WNBA picks and prop predictions for May 23.

  • Suns Wilson o11.5 rebs (-120)

Today's best WNBA player props bets

Suns Alanna Smith Over 1.5 3-pointers made (+115 at bet365)

Alanna Smith has played a bigger role in the Minnesota Lynx offense with veteran Kayla McBridge away from the team.

She’s been especially active from outside, firing up seven 3-point attempts in the first two games, knocking down three and four triples in those outings.

Smith is fighting through a nagging quads injury but played in the win over Dallas on Wednesday and is expected to suit up tonight against the Connecticut Sun at home.

Minnesota is a monster 16-point favorite against the WNBA’s worst team (second to last defensive rating), so bookies are bracing for plenty of points from the Lynx inside the Target Center tonight.

Player projections for Smith sit as high as 1.65 which seems tempered considering her increased touches and attempts from deep, as well as the quality of opponent tonight. Some books have the Over 1.5 made 3-pointers as high as -118 but you can get +115 at bet365.

I have much higher ceiling for Smith versus Connecticut and I’m also sprinkling on her 3+ three-pointers at a market high of +375.

Suns Azurá Stevens Over 7.5 rebounds (-114 at FanDuel)

Azurá Stevens is off to a great start to the 2025 season in Los Angeles.

After averaging less than 10 points in an injury-plagued 2024, the 6-foot-6 forward is scoring 18.3 points along with 9.3 average rebounds through the first three games, filling the large gap in the frontcourt left by Cameron Brink’s recovery.

Her importance to the Los Angeles Sparks is amplified by Rickea Jackson’s recent concussion, leaving Los Angeles to run out a smaller lineup with rookie guard Sarah Ashlee Barker jumping into the starting five.

That boosts Stevens’ role as a rebounder, which was evident in the 17 boards she tucked away in the loss to Phoenix on Wednesday.

Golden State hits the road fresh from its first franchise victory, pegged as a sizable pup in L.A. The Valkyries were squashed by the Sparks in their first game back on May 16, with Stevens snatching five rebounds with Jackson alongside her in the frontcourt.

This is a smaller Golden State roster, especially with Tiffany Hayes out, and Stevens rebound projections range from seven boards to more than nine tonight.

Suns A’ja Wilson Over 11.5 rebounds (-120 at bet365)

Even on their best day, opponents of the Las Vegas Aces have a tough time keeping A'ja Wilson off the glass. The Washington Mystics will not be at their best in Sin City tonight.

Washington is once again down its top two talents in the frontcourt with Aaliyah Edwards still nursing a sore back and Shakira Austin out with a concussion.

That leaves the Mystics drastically undermanned and undersized around the rim. Washington opened the season without Edwards and Austin on the floor and was outrebounded 37-26 by Atlanta.

Wilson pulled down 16 rebounds in the season opener versus New York and still had 10 boards in 29 minutes in a squash of Connecticut on Tuesday. The 6-foot-4 multi-time MVP is extremely active on the glass and her projections for Friday sit at 12.3 or higher.

Some sportsbooks are dealing Wilson’s rebound total at 12.5 O/U while others are asking a much as -160 for a dozen boards from the Aces’ superstar.
