Sonia Citron has been phenomenal as a rookie, and her 15.2 points per game are second only to Paige Bueckers among first-year players. The Notre Dame product has stepped up as a scorer since the Washington Mystics traded Britney Sykes, and she gets a great matchup tonight.
In 11 games since Sykes was traded, Citron leads Washington with 17.6 points per game. In that span, she’s scored 16 or more points six times and exactly 15 points twice more.
The Los Angeles Sparks have allowed the most points per game to opponents this season, and rank third-worst in defensive rating. Citron scored eight and seven points in her first two matchups with Washington while Sykes was still on the roster. In her last game against the Sparks after Sykes was traded, Citron dropped 24.
The Mystics' guard gets the best defensive matchup possible tonight, and she’s been a more productive option on the road. I’m happy to bet the Over here and thrilled to get even money.
