Veronica Burton capitalizes against a feeble Sun defense to headline our favorite WNBA player props on Memorial Day.

Monday’s Memorial Day WNBA slate offers just two games, but there are still plenty of value plays as the Portland Fire take on the New York Liberty, and the Connecticut Sun face the Golden State Valkyries.

My WNBA player props take a look at one of the W’s biggest stars playing in a favorable matchup and a player from the opposing team who’s gotten off to a hot start offensively with newfound opportunities. Finally, I’ll take a chance on a combo prop for the reigning Sixth Player of the Year.

Read on for my WNBA picks for Monday, May 25.

Breanna Stewart double-double - Yes (+130)

Breanna Stewart’s combo line is set at 31.5 (-105), and she’s failed to hit that number in four straight. I’d rather get plus-money odds on a milestone she’s cleared three times this season and missed out on by a single rebound twice.

The New York Liberty host the Portland Fire on the second leg of a back-to-back after getting beaten handily by the Wings on Sunday, and Stewie should be fired up.

Portland sports the lowest rebound percentage in the W at 45.6%, and Stewart has recorded at 10+ in 109 of 115 career games with New York.

Bridget Carleton Over 2.5 made threes (+155)

Bridget Carleton has embraced her new offensive-driven role with the expansion Fire, and she’s taking a career-high 7.5 shots from deep per game. A career 39% shooter from downtown, Carleton is averaging three made triples.

With Satou Sabally, Stewart, and Jonquel Jones, New York runs a triple-big lineup, which has led to opponents relying on spacing and taking the most threes (30.3) rather than attacking the paint.

Carleton finished with seven triples on 17 attempts in two matchups with New York this season, and I’m happy to attack this line, especially with profitable +155 odds.

Veronica Burton Over 25.5 points + rebounds + assists (-105)

Golden State Valkyries guard Veronica Burton is putting together another strong statistical season, boosting her points (15) and assists (6.4) to new career highs.

The reigning Sixth Player of the Year has cleared this combo line only once this season, but she’s come within two or three in each contest. Tonight’s matchup with the Connecticut Sun represents the worst defensive rating she’s faced all season.

The Sun rank in the Bottom 4 in defensive rating and points and assists surrendered, which should lead to the small bump in production needed to get to 26 and cash a line I’d bet up to 26.5.
