The New York Liberty will get another star player back in their lineup when they host the Dallas Wings this afternoon.

New York may be getting healthier, but that’s coming with growing pains on offense. That has me backing the Under in my Wings vs. Liberty predictions.

Learn more about this matchup below as I share my free WNBA picks for Sunday, May 24.

Wings vs Liberty prediction

Wings vs Liberty best bet: Under 179 (-110)

The New York Liberty got a boost on Thursday as Satou Sabally came back from injury, but the rust showed, as she scored just five points in 16 minutes in a low-scoring 87-70 loss.

They’ll now have to integrate another star as Sabrina Ionescu is expected to make her season debut today

The Dallas Wings play at the third-slowest pace and have averaged 173.3 points this year, hitting the Under in four of their last five games.

I’m backing the Under and would do so unless the total dropped below 175.5.

Covers COVERS INTEL: The Liberty have been sloppy on offense this season, posting an 18.9% turnover rate, the fifth-worst mark in the W.

Wings vs Liberty same-game parlay

The Liberty haven’t been living up to their lofty expectations early in the season, having failed to cover as a favorite in three of their last four games.

With New York having to integrate both Sabally and Ionescu right now, this is a team in transition, and I’m expecting the Wings to be able to at least cover this 7.5-point spread on the road.

I’m also backing Jessica Shepard to pick up a double-double this afternoon. Shepard has done so in three straight games, including posting a triple-double on Wednesday against the Chicago Sky.

She’s a threat to hit double digits in all three major categories on any night, and the books are still giving us generous odds to back her to continue her double-double streak.

Wings vs Liberty SGP

  • Under 179
  • Wings +7.5
  • Jessica Shepard double-double

Wings vs Liberty first basket scorer: Paige Bueckers (+700)

It’s anyone’s guess where the Liberty might go with the ball if they happen to score the first basket today, but there’s a clear frontrunner on Dallas.

Paige Bueckers is the leading scorer for the Wings, averaging 18.5 ppg, and she both takes and makes the most shots for her team.

Bueckers is shooting 51.9% from the floor, including an incredible 48% from 3-point range. No matter where she finds herself on the court on Dallas’ first possession, I love Bueckers to score at +700.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
