After Angel Reese failed to score in the second half of Game 1, the Dream star will step up in Monday's crucial Game 2 of the WNBA Finals vs. the Valkyries.

Angel Reese disappeared in the second half of Saturday’s loss, but my Dream vs. Valkyries prediction and Game WNBA picks call for the "Bayou Barbie" to look for her shot early and often.

I’m also picking Reese and teammate Allisha Gray to hit the Over on their scoring lines as Jordin Canada clears her assist total when the Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries clash again at Chase Center on Monday, Oct. 19, at 8 p.m. ET on USA Network.

 TOP PICK
Dream vs Valkyries prediction: Angel Reese Over 14.5 points

I’ll trade this prop up to 55%.

Atlanta Dream superstar Angel Reese got off to a tremendous start in Game 1, dropping 11 points in the first quarter and finishing the first half with 14 points on 5 of 9 shooting. Reese looked like she was on her way to a monster scoring night, but she went 0-for-2 in the second half and didn’t score after the break.

In the postgame presser, Reese took accountability for her disappointing second half, noting it was her lack of aggression — not the Golden State Valkyries defense — that held her scoring back.

Reese scored 15-plus points in 28 of 43 regular-season games and had reached that mark in four straight playoff games before Game 1. She’s scored 14-plus points in three of four vs. GSV, and I expect her to be aggressive in Game 2.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Reese's strong offensive production leads to Dream victories. Including the playoffs, Atlanta went 25-7 SU across 32 games in which Reese scored 15+ points.

Dream vs Valkyries combo

Allisha Gray was injured in Game 1 of the semifinals and logged only 11 minutes, but she scored 16-plus points in three healthy postseason games. She averaged a career-high 19 points per game and hit the Over on this line in 31 of 44 regular-season appearances.

Gray returned for Game 1 of the finals and scored 19 points, and I’ll trade this up to 17.5.

I picked Atlanta to win Game 1, and the Dream held the lead entering the fourth quarter. The Valkyries mounted a late charge and stole a win, holding Atlanta scoreless for the final 3:12.

Atlanta can bounce back, as it went 10-4 straight up after a loss this season, the best mark in the league. A more aggressive Reese and the urgency to even up the series have me leaning toward the Dream to win Game 2.

Dream vs Valkyries combo

  • Angel Reese Over 14.5 points
  • Allisha Gray Over 15.5 points

Dream vs Valkyries player prop: Jordin Canada Over 6.5 assists

Given how productive Jordin Canada has been, I’ll trade her assists Over up to 7.5.

Canada averaged a career-best 7.3 assists per game this season, dishing out seven or more in 24 of 43 contests. She’s been red-hot in the playoffs, averaging 8.5 assists per game and hitting the Over in five of six games, including all three on the road.

Canada ranks behind only Caitlin Clark in assists per game and assist percentage (42.9%), and her 35.2 assist ratio is the best among players averaging 20-plus minutes per game.

I expect Atlanta’s offense to be more aggressive after failing to score in the final three-plus minutes of Game 1. Canada is at the helm, giving her a clear path to seven or more assists.
