The Minnesota Lynx are close to securing the No. 1 seed in the WNBA playoffs, crucial to them to avoid a tough semifinal matchup this season. That carrot should keep Minnesota focused as a hefty favorite against the Atlanta Dream tonight.

My Dream vs. Lynx predictions and WNBA picks trust the best team and the best player in the WNBA. Some things can be that simple. Tip comes at 7:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, July 27.

Dream vs Lynx predictions

My Dream vs Lynx best bet: Lynx -8 (-110 at FanDuel)

The schedule caught up with the Minnesota Lynx before the All-Star break. They played 10 games in 20 days, leading to two losses in their final five games before the break.

That may still sound like a quality stretch, but realize Minnesota is otherwise 19-2 in league play this year. A 3-2 stretch was relatively ugly.

For gambling concerns, there was a notable 1-3 against the spread stretch overlapping with that 3-2 outright moment. Remove those four games and the Lynx are 15-7 ATS this season.

That lull may have been schedule-induced, but logic trusts that lull still knocked down bookmakers’ ratings of Minnesota.

With the Lynx now rested, that reality alone creates value for us bettors. They have already easily covered the spread in two games since the break, both as hefty favorites.

On the other side of the ball tonight, the Atlanta Dream are now feeling a bit of schedule fatigue. They have been on the road for a week, now underdogs in all three games.

An upset in Phoenix on Wednesday was impressive, but spending a full week away from Atlanta brings its own wear.

Minnesota is undervalued these days thanks to the miseries of early July. That should show through against a worn out Dream team.

Dream vs Lynx same-game parlay (SGP)

Lynx -8

Napheesa Collier Over 20.5 points

Allisha Gray Over 16.5 points

Do not overthink this. The clear MVP, Napheesa Collier is a ruthlessly efficient scorer. She dropped 25 on Friday in a blowout of Las Vegas, somewhat surprisingly seeing enough minutes to push past 20 points.

She has cleared this prop in 16 of 23 games this season, with three of those shortcomings popping up during that run of clear schedule fatigue.

Allisha Gray increasingly looks like the Most Improved Player this season, and that has shown most clearly since the All-Star break, scoring 24 and 28 points in those two games.

As she tries to push the Dream into better playoff positioning, more should come from Gray the next few weeks.

Douglas Farmer spends his days thinking about college football and his nights thinking about the NBA. His betting habits and coverage follow that same pattern. He covered Notre Dame football for various outlets from 2008 to 2024, most notably spending eight seasons as NBC Sports’ beat writer on the Irish. That was also when his gambling focus took off. Knowing there were veteran beat writers with three decades more experience than he had, Douglas found his niche by best recognizing Notre Dame’s standing in each year’s national landscape, a complex tapestry most easily understood and remembered via betting odds.

In 2021, that interest created a freelance opportunity with Covers, a role that eventually led to Douglas joining the company full-time in 2023. In the fall, Douglas will place five or six dozen bets each week, a disproportionate amount via BetRivers because the operator tends to have lines slightly different than the rest of the market. The same can be said of Circa Sports’ futures markets.

While Douglas is an avid NBA fan and covers the league throughout the year, the vast majority of his bets are on college football, because that is the biggest key to sports betting: Know what you do not know.
