The Atlanta Dream (+3.5) can book their spot in the WNBA Finals with a road win over the New York Liberty on Friday night.

Atlanta's defense has disrupted the New York offense enough to beat it time and again, and I'm predicting they get the win again tonight in my Dream vs. Liberty prediction.

Let's break down all my free WNBA picks for Friday, Oct. 9.

 TOP PICK
Dream vs Liberty prediction: Dream moneyline

The Atlanta Dream have now won nine straight games. That includes four consecutive victories over the New York Liberty, two of which came on the road to close out the regular season.

The Dream have forced 35 turnovers over the first two games of this series, which has helped negate relatively efficient shooting from New York. That defense combined with one of the league's most productive offenses has been a winning combination for Atlanta all season long.

Atlanta is executing its game plan to perfection right now. I'm backing the Dream to win at up to 45%.

Covers COVERS INTEL: The Dream forced 16.0 turnovers per game and held opponents to a 1.20 assist/turnover rate, both of which were the best figures in the WNBA this season.

Dream vs Liberty combo

Atlanta's long winning streak has been fueled by consistent offensive performances, with the Dream scoring 92+ points in seven of their last nine games. They've also hit the Over in six of their last seven contests.

The Liberty are more than capable of scoring too, ranking fifth in the league at 89.6 ppg this season. I'm backing the Over tonight.

I'm also taking Jordin Canada to hit her personal scoring total at 15+ points. Canada is averaging a team-high 19.3 ppg for the postseason, and has led the charge against the Liberty, scoring 25 and 23 points in the first two games of this series.

Dream vs Liberty player prop: Angel Reese 15+ points

Angel Reese enjoyed her best offensive season as a professional in 2026, averaging 16.4 ppg on 45.1% shooting. Her production has only increased in the playoffs, where she has put up 17.0 ppg for the Dream even as her signature rebounding numbers have dipped a bit.

I'd like this prop regardless of other factors, but knowing that Allisha Gray (19.0 ppg in the regular season) is a game-time decision tonight makes me even more confident that Reese will continue her elevated role on offense, which has sent her average 20.0 ppg in this series against New York.

I'm backing Reese to score 15+ points at up to 65%.

Since joining Covers in 2022, Ed has offered his sports betting analysis primarily on MLB, NFL, college football, and college basketball games, but is willing to take on any sport.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
