The Indiana Fever opened a much-anticipated 2025 season with a 93-point bang. And what normally follows a bang?

Fireworks.

My Dream vs. Fever predictions believe there will be plenty of those when Caitlin Clark & Co. take on a revamped Atlanta offense on Tuesday night.

Oddsmakers have pegged this matchup with a tall total, and that means plenty of shots, which in turn leads to lots of rebounding chances. That's why Brionna Jones tops my WNBA picks for May 20.

Dream vs Fever predictions

My Dream vs Fever best bet: Brionna Jones Over 6.5 rebounds (-114 at FanDuel)

The pace of this game will be insane.

For one, you have an Atlanta Dream squad now running coach Karl Smesko’s high-octane offense that thrives on tempo and 3-point shooting. Atlanta shot the ball 74 times in its opening game loss to Washington with 36 of those attempts from beyond the arc.

Secondly, the Indiana Fever also want to push pace and score buckets on the fastbreak. In its first look under new coach Stephanie White, Indiana ran Chicago off the floor with a pace rating of 102.6 and attempted 75 shots.

All those shots mean plenty of misses and a surplus of rebounding chances.

Brionna Jones was solid in her debut for the Dream. The veteran forward scored 16 points and snatched 10 rebounds, including six on the offensive end.

Washington was missing two members of its starting frontcourt, so those chances won’t be as plentiful tonight. That said, the Fever still gave up 42 rebounds to the Sky with 13 coming on the offensive glass.

WNBA player projections for Jones vary, ranging from a conservative 7.31 rebounds to an extremely bullish 15.3 boards. My number sits closer to 10 rebounds from Jones, which has me betting her Over 6.5 and sprinkling on her 10+ rebounds alt-total at a peak price of +475 (DraftKings).

Caitlin Clark pick: Clark's playmaking embraces the pace

My best bet
Caitlin Clark Over 9.5 assists (-130 at BetMGM)

My analysis

The Fever scored 93 points in their first game of the season and could have put up a lot more if not for some miscues on offense.

Indiana looks out of sorts at times and coughed the ball up 10 times along with several missed open layups, which was to be expected considering the turnover in talent this roster underwent this offseason.

Several of those botched bunnies came off passes from Caitlin Clark, who continuously set up her teammates for great looks at the basket.

Clark still finished with 10 assists and enters what could be a very frenetic game against an Atlanta team not too concerned with playing defense.

The Dream just lost a shootout to a talent-challenged Washington squad missing two of its best players. Indiana is the best team in the WNBA (yep, already) and Clark will lift everyone around her.

Player models top out around 9.5 dimes but the ceiling for this game should be much higher, with Indiana probably getting up 80-plus shots this evening and the offense ironing out those opening-night wrinkles.

Dream vs Fever same-game parlay (SGP)

Brionna Jones 7+ rebounds

Caitlin Clark 10+ assists

Aliyah Boston 7+ rebounds

Jones had a big debut on the boards for the Dream and with so many shots going up, she’ll easily snatch seven or more tonight.

Clark could have finished with more assists versus Chicago, but the Fever missed some easy looks as they shook off the rust. This game will have a crazy pace with plenty of playmaking from the future MVP.

Aliyah Boston was great in her 2025 debut, grabbing 13 rebounds in the win. She’s projected for as many as 11 boards tonight.
