Scimia's prediction: The Sparks offense has been firing on all cylinders lately, and that will give L.A. the upper hand against the Aces tonight.

The Los Angeles Sparks will look to keep up their recent momentum as they host the Las Vegas Aces at Crypto.com Arena tonight.

Los Angeles is riding a five-game winning streak, and my Aces vs. Sparks predictions like the home team to win outright.

Aces vs Sparks predictions

My Aces vs Sparks best bet: Sparks moneyline (+115 at BetMGM)

The Las Vegas Aces haven’t been the same this year without guard Kelsey Plum, and they’ll get to see what they’re missing in person tonight against the Los Angeles Sparks. Plum is averaging 20.1 points and 5.9 assists for Los Angeles and has been a key piece in the five-game winning streak that has gotten L.A. back in the playoff race.

While that winning streak includes two wins over the floundering Sun, there’s also a win against the Liberty in there. The Los Angeles offense has been firing on all cylinders during this stretch, averaging 97.2 ppg over its last five games.

That level of offense will be difficult for the Aces to stop. Las Vegas isn’t the defensive powerhouse it prided itself on during its title runs, ranking in the Bottom 5 in the WNBA in defensive rating at 103.2. Twice in their last six games, the Aces have allowed more than 100 points to their opponents.

A’ja Wilson (21.6 ppg) still makes Las Vegas a threat on both ends of the court, but the Aces are averaging only 81.3 ppg and don’t have the firepower to keep up with the Sparks. I’m taking L.A. to win outright at home.

Aces vs Sparks same-game parlay (SGP)

Sparks moneyline

Over 174.5

Kelsey Plum Over 17.5 points

Along with taking the Sparks to win tonight, I’m also backing the Over in my SGP. These teams have combined for totals of 177+ points in each of their first two meetings this year and have hit the Over in five of six matchups in the past two seasons. I’ll also take Kelsey Plum to score 18+ points, something she’s done in eight of her last 11 games.

Since joining Covers in 2022, Ed has offered his sports betting analysis primarily on MLB, NFL, college football, and college basketball games, but is willing to take on any sport.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
