The heavyweights are looking to make a big splash Down Under as Tai Tuivasa and Glover Teixeira collide in one of the featured betting attractions on the UFC 325 undercard.

Teixeira is listed as the favorite at -380, while Tuivasa is a +280 underdog in the latest UFC odds.

Both big men are trying to get back on track after debilitating losses derailed their runs toward the top, but my UFC 325: Tuivasa vs. Teixeira predictions are riding with the chalk on Saturday, January 31, in Sydney, Australia.

Tuivasa vs Teixeira prediction and best bet

Fight analysis
Tai Tuivasa and Glover Teixeira are two big men at the peak of their talents. Tuivasa has lost his last five fights, being stopped in four of them after starting his MMA career 15-3, while Teixeira is coming off a 26-second loss to Derrick Lewis that all but deflated the hype around him.

Despite their recent struggles, the winner of this fight can vault back into relevance due to the top-heavy nature of the heavyweight division.

When it comes to momentum in this crossroads bout, it’s easy to side with Teixeira. Standing 6-foot-7 with an 83-inch reach, he fights tall and long, keeping opponents at the end of jabs and front kicks, leaning into his power as he builds confidence.

Tuivasa’s losing streak is concerning, especially with recent reports showing him heavier than normal and enjoying life outside the octagon. He hasn’t fought in 17 months after dropping a split-decision loss to Jairzinho Rozenstruik, and the explosiveness, reflexes, and sudden stopping power that once defined him have largely faded.

Truth be told, Tuivasa may be fighting for his UFC career, and he’s looked dreadful up to this point, making it risky to back him as an underdog.

Realistically, if Tuivasa can get inside Teixeira’s reach, he might summon enough strength to blast him out and save his career. The reality, though, is that Teixeira should be able to keep the plodding Tuivasa at bay and wear him down once fatigue sets in from telegraphed strikes and missed openings.

Best bet analysis
Heavyweight fights are volatile, but Tuivasa’s declining durability and Teixeira’s ability to control distance tilt this matchup in his favor.

As long as Teixeira avoids extended pocket exchanges early, winning by knockout is my best bet.
