Dan Hooker is fresh off a loss to Arman Tsarukyan in November, when he was mauled on the ground and submitted in the second round. He’s 4-4 in his last eight fights, with all four defeats coming by stoppage and two of those wins by split decision.
Meanwhile, Benoit Saint Denis has won three straight and earned Performance of the Night bonuses in back-to-back bouts after knocking out Beneil Dariush and submitting Mauricio Ruffy.
Although Hooker is a highly skilled kickboxer, Saint Denis is a dangerous striker in his own right and holds a massive advantage on the ground thanks to his takedowns and grappling. BSD is also six years younger and should beat a fighter on the downslope of his career.
Best bet analysis
While Hooker boasts crisp striking, Saint Denis will look to take the fight to the mat, where he holds a clear advantage. BSD owns 11 career submission victories, including four inside the octagon, while all four of Hooker’s career losses have come by submission.
