Jiri Prochazka and Khalil Rountree Jr. are in striking distance for a shot against the winner of the UFC 320 main event, and these two light heavyweight bombers are entering the octagon with the very high probability that one of them will be getting carried out.

Prochazka is a -180 favorite in the UFC odds while Rountree sits at +140, and I’m backing the betting favorite tonight.

Here are my free UFC 320: Prochazka vs. Rountree Jr. predictions from T-Mobile Arena on Saturday, October 4.

Prochazka vs Rountree Jr. prediction and best bet

Fight analysis
These two elite light heavyweights have only lost to Alex Pereira over the last four years, and both carry fight-ending power. Jiri Prochazka has the stronger pedigree, but this is essentially a coin flip between a former champion who often gets hit clean and a relentless contender who doesn’t stop pressing for a knockout until the final bell.

Prochazka is one of the most dynamic strikers in the division, blending speed, versatility, and power. He lands 5.74 significant strikes per minute at 55% accuracy, though he absorbs nearly as many at 5.70, which has led to some rough moments. Still, every UFC win on his resume has been a finish, and he’s coming off a win over Jamahal Hill at UFC 311, picking him apart ahead of stopping him inside three rounds.

Khalil Rountree Jr. has gone from afterthought to contender, pushing Pereira harder than expected before coming up short. He’s a dangerous southpaw brawler with crushing power in his left hand and the ability to march forward until he lands.

Rountree averages 3.79 significant strikes per minute at 40% accuracy, but he absorbs 4.24, and his selective output means he needs to make every shot count. Like Prochazka, he also beat Jamahal Hill, who has become a common measuring stick at light heavyweight.

If Rountree times Prochazka with the left hand, he can score the upset, but Prochazka’s length, speed, and ability to fight effectively moving forward or backward give him more options. Rountree struggles when pressured, while Prochazka can be equally dangerous, whether sitting back and countering or coming forward and creating close-quarters chaos.

Best bet analysis
This fight will end violently, one way or another.

Prochazka’s speed and precision could overwhelm Rountree, or Rountree’s power could fold him with a single shot.

My best bet is that the fight fails to go the distance.
