Three Nashville Predators have shorter odds to record a point against the Sens tonight. While his first season in Music City was certainly a bumpy road, he's seemingly found his form once again.

The new captain of the Ottawa Senators is playing a monumental role without Jake Sanderson in the lineup, averaging nearly 27 minutes per game while also taking over the reins on the No. 1 power play unit.
He has a great matchup against the Nashville Predators, who rank 30th in shot suppression at both 5-on-5 and on the penalty kill.

Tage Thompson remains the only player left this season to record four or more shots in every game he has played. The Sabres sniper has compiled 23 shots on goal in just four games this season and has hit the mark in five straight. He's also attempted 36 shots, tying him with Brandon Hagel for the league lead.
The Utah Mammoth have allowed the fourth-fewest shots in this early season, but Thompson's shot volume has been matchup-proof, and his trigger-happy start to the season provides a ton of value at plus-money.

The Toronto Maple Leafs (third) and Colorado Avalanche (sixth) both slot near the top of the league in 5-on-5 pace, which should create a high-event environment for MacKinnon to pile up the shots.
MacKinnon went nuclear in similar spots a season ago. He cleared 3.5 shots in 90% of his home games against Bottom-12 shot suppression teams, averaging a whopping 5.8 shots on target per contest.

I'm playing Martin Necas for an assist to 57%.
The Toronto Maple Leafs Leafs play at a high pace and give up a lot of quality looks across all game states. They sit 21st in expected goals allowed at 5-on-5 and 26th while killing penalties.
It’s also worth noting the Avalanche are healthy 67% favorites and Necas assisted in eight of the last nine Colorado victories.

It’s hard to go with anyone other than Cutter Gauthier, who I like to 46%.
Gauthier leads both teams in shot attempts, shots on goal, and expected goals.
The Calgary Flames rank dead last in goals allowed per game and figure to finish near the basement. Well, Gauthier found the back of the net in 53% of his games against Bottom-12 scoring defenses last year.

Mark Stone played at a career-best 38-goal pace in 2025-26 and has three goals in five games thus far this season. He's fired 13 shots on goal this season (also a career-best pace) and has found the back of the net in consecutive games. The Vegas Golden Knights captain has been scoring at an unprecedented clip for over a calendar year now, yet is still priced at just 34% against the Los Angeles Kings tonight. He's scored in five of his last eight.

An NHL moneyline bet is simple: all you need to do is pick a winner. Whether that's in regulation or overtime, they don't ask how, but how many, right?

As with all moneyline odds, the team with the minus sign (-) is the favorite, while the side with the plus sign (+) is the underdog.
Betting $100 on Edmonton at -130 would net you $176 in winnings if they win the game, $76 of profit plus your initial $100 wager. Conversely, if you bet on Florida and they win, you get $210: $110 in profit plus your initial $100 bet.
The puck line is the NHL's version of the spread, where each team is given a certain number of goals to either win or lose by. Unlike the NFL or the NBA, the NHL spread doesn't typically change from 1.5 for each side. The spread is designed to make betting on the favorite more enticing.

The favorite, Edmonton at -1.5, would need to win by at least two goals for the bet to cash. If Edmonton wins by two or more goals, in other words, "covers the bet," you'd get $191 in winnings instead of $176 by taking them on the moneyline.
There are two ways for the underdog, Florida at +1.5, to "cover" a +1.5 puck line bet. They can lose by a single goal or win outright to cash. The odds are shorter, but you have options on this bet.
With a total bet, you're wagering on the total number of goals scored by both teams. You aren't backing any single side to win.

Sportsbooks will set a line for the game. In this case, it's 5.5 goals. Your job is to figure out if Edmonton and Florida will score more or fewer than 5.5 goals, not counting the shootout.
If you see a line that's an even number, like 6.0, those bets can end in a push where your wager is refunded if the game ends at exactly six goals.
