This total is simply too tall, and I'd be comfortable playing the Under 6 to -105 if this line vanishes. Columbus has recorded 20 or fewer shots in three of its last four games. Carolina has been much busier offensively during a 6-2 SU run, but is still 6-2 to the Under in its last eight. This head-to-head has also seen the Under prevail three times in a four-game span.

He's recorded an assist in three straight games and has 38 in 59 career meetings with the Red Wings. Detroit's penalty kill sits at just 65.9%, giving Kane another opportunity to reach the milestone against his former team.

It's amazing it took Chicago this long to get Bedard someone who can set him up, but since his return, Bedard has recorded a point in five of six games. Kane has an assist in five of those games and six apples overall. Detroit is coming back from a four-game Western Canada trip and could easily no-show today. The Red Wings aren't playing bad hockey as a slightly below-average team, but the travel makes this a tough scheduling spot, and they own the league's 30th-ranked penalty kill. If the Hawks can squeeze out a power-play goal tonight, a Bedard/Kane point stack has a strong chance of hitting. I'm not getting greedy here and just taking the assist, which I'd play to 2.15x.

The Dallas Stars are 10-2 to the Under this season, rank in the bottom third of hockey in expected goals for/60, and sit inside the top five in xGA/60. Today, they get a neutered Montreal Canadiens offense that's finding ways to win but playing tight, low-scoring games without Nick Suzuki. Montreal won't have its preferred option in net in Jacob Fowler, but that shouldn't be a huge issue against a Stars team with the eighth-worst scoring offense in hockey and the 21st-ranked power play. If you're looking for the best Under today, this is it by a mile. Getting plus money is surprising, as I have the Under 5.5 closer to 52%. The Stars haven't had a closing total higher than 5.5 in eight straight games.

Fraser Minten o0.5 Goals Scored (+350)
Fraser Minten has quietly emerged as a legitimate scoring threat for Boston, burying five goals through his first 13 games (second on the team behind Pastrnak) while averaging 2.5 shots on net. The 22-year-old draws a solid matchup against a St. Louis defense allowing nearly three goals per game, and his role in Boston's top six and second power play unit should provide the opportunities we need to find the back of the net tonight. With 18 medium-danger shot attempts this season, Minten is getting to his spots, and at 21%, he's a strong value trade to hit twine.
David Pastrnak o3.5 Shots On Goal (+100)
Now, I'm usually not a shot guy, but when we find a spot we like, we take it. The Blues are giving up nearly 28 shots per game, which is good for 17th in hockey, with the Bruins' shooting percentage nearly the best in the league. With Pastrnak's ice time - he's averaging over 20 minutes a game - and shot volume (6.7 shot attempts per game), we should soar over this number.

Cutter Gauthier leads the Ducks with 59 shot attempts and 28 shots on target over his last nine games.
He didn't convert once during that span but, clearly, it was not for a lack of opportunity.
The Buffalo Sabres sit 28th in save percentage and have really struggled to kill penalties. That’ll help Gauthier’s cause.

I’m on Zellweger for 2+ shots and see value to 63%.
Zellweger is one of the most efficient shot-generators in the league at his position. He ranks eighth among defensemen in shots on goal per 60 minutes of 5-on-5 play, and cracks the Top-5 when looking at attempts.
The efficiency is rocket fuel when paired with high-end usage, which he’s seeing nightly. Zellweger saw a big spike in minutes without Rasmus Dahlin in the lineup and that has continued even with the captain back in the mix.

No team in the NHL has surrendered more goals than the Vancouver Canucks, and the San Jose Sharks could be in for an feast. Vancouver's penalty kill has been equally disastrous, operating at a dreadful 63% clip. If San Jose can generate a few power-play opportunities, this could get ugly.

An NHL moneyline bet is simple: all you need to do is pick a winner. Whether that's in regulation or overtime, they don't ask how, but how many, right?

As with all moneyline odds, the team with the minus sign (-) is the favorite, while the side with the plus sign (+) is the underdog.
Betting $100 on Edmonton at -130 would net you $176 in winnings if they win the game, $76 of profit plus your initial $100 wager. Conversely, if you bet on Florida and they win, you get $210: $110 in profit plus your initial $100 bet.
The puck line is the NHL's version of the spread, where each team is given a certain number of goals to either win or lose by. Unlike the NFL or the NBA, the NHL spread doesn't typically change from 1.5 for each side. The spread is designed to make betting on the favorite more enticing.

The favorite, Edmonton at -1.5, would need to win by at least two goals for the bet to cash. If Edmonton wins by two or more goals, in other words, "covers the bet," you'd get $191 in winnings instead of $176 by taking them on the moneyline.
There are two ways for the underdog, Florida at +1.5, to "cover" a +1.5 puck line bet. They can lose by a single goal or win outright to cash. The odds are shorter, but you have options on this bet.
With a total bet, you're wagering on the total number of goals scored by both teams. You aren't backing any single side to win.

Sportsbooks will set a line for the game. In this case, it's 5.5 goals. Your job is to figure out if Edmonton and Florida will score more or fewer than 5.5 goals, not counting the shootout.
If you see a line that's an even number, like 6.0, those bets can end in a push where your wager is refunded if the game ends at exactly six goals.
