Colorado is looking to regroup after what many called the worst loss in program history, a 30-28 shocker last Saturday against FCS member Sacramento State. The team's second straight upset loss, courtesy of a last-second field goal, has left the Buffaloes with nowhere to stare but up heading into Saturday’s game at Fresno State. The Bulldogs took their lumps in a 42-25 loss Saturday at No. 4 Oregon, but are now in the unfamiliar position of being a heavy favorite against a BCS conference school.

ABOUT COLORADO (0-2): Colorado is expected to employ two quarterbacks against the Bulldogs. Jordan Webb has struggled under pressure from opposing defenses, throwing for just 347 yards and three touchdowns in two games and getting sacked eight times. Connor Wood subbed in for one play against Sacramento State after Webb’s helmet was dislodged and he completed a 28-yard pass on third-and-18.

ABOUT FRESNO STATE (1-1): Robbie Rouse needs 79 yards to break Ron Rivers’ school record for career rushing yardage. The senior running back from San Diego has netted 238 yards through two games and figures to see a heavy workload against the defensively challenged Buffaloes. Rouse broke the school record for career carries in the loss at Oregon. He enters Saturday with 665 carries in four seasons, totaling 3,395 yards.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Fresno State is 11-5 at home against Pac-12 teams in the program’s history.

2. The Buffaloes ended a 24-game losing streak outside Colorado with a victory at Utah in the season finale last year. They haven’t won two straight road games since 2004.

3. Heading into this week, Fresno State was a 14-point favorite against Colorado, marking the first time since 1993 that the Bulldogs were double-digit favorites against a BCS school.

PREDICTION: Fresno State 30, Colorado 13.
