TOR vs DET Picks
MLB Picks
Until the Detroit Tigers start scoring runs consistently, they will be a play-against team for me. The Blue Jays are right in the thick of the race for the No.1 spot in the AL (alongside the Tigers), so there will be no mail-in games for them. Add in the fact that the Jays will have the pitching edge with Jose Berrios taking on Keider Montero, and I like the Jays here at a near pick-em price.

One of the Jays' hottest bats right now belongs to George Springer, who’s sporting a .423 average and a .531 on-base percentage since returning from the All-Star break. Not only is he getting on base, but he’s also making it count and scoring, too. Springer has crossed home plate in each of his last five games and has eight runs scored over that seven-game post All-Star stretch. Tigers starter Keider Montero has only had one outing against the Blue Jays in his career, and it went poorly, surrendering five runs on eight hits in just 5.1 innings. Springer did the most damage in that game, going 3-for-3 with a double and two home runs. This should only add to his already sky-high confidence at the plate right now, which I expect will allow him to continue his hot play with the bat to get on base and score again tonight.
